K.,

That has to be scary for you and your family. I would gladly listen if you need someone. I am sure that their is a support group through the hospital or Ronald McDonald House. I have watched my cousins go through heart surgery. So, if you need someone please don't hesitate to contact me.

I will keep you in my prayers.

My husband is an adult cardiac surgeon and works closely with the surgeons at Omaha Children's Hospital. He has nothing but good things to say about them. I do anesthesia and if you have any questions or concerns related to the surgery/anesthesia I would be happy to correspond with you. Email is best for me.

Take care and best of luck,

K.,
I just want you to know that you are in my prayers. If you need anything feel free to email me at ____@____.com. I just want you to know that I have a 4 year old that went through with open heart at 1 years old. We found out that she had a hole in her heart when I was pregant with her the one that made it, and her sister (the one that didn't make it). After I had her we kept going to the heart doctor to monitor how it was doing, they didn't want to do open heart till she was out of the rsv season, but they were going to try to advoid that and go a differnt way, but was not able to due to the fact her vales were to big. So they ended up opening her chest and fixing it with a patch big enough so when she gets old or when she is in her teenage years she will have to go and have another done. She is a healthy 4 year old and is doing great. So it is okkay to be scared, but you must be strong and brave at the same time. Take Care hope to hear from you soonn

my daughter has a heart defect, an ASD, which they think might need to be closed, but for now are just watching closely. I dont know why your's needs surgery, but I will be happy to chat with you. If mine needs surgery, she will be having it angoplasty style instead of open heart. WebMD.com has great resources on heart problems plus sites that have chat groups like this one, but only with parents who have children with heart problems. I am not part of one myself, but I know they are on there. Good Luck!

" i'll try to make a point of finding it and getting back to you w/ the info ( 1: childrens hosp. / the cardiologist office should have it also and 2: i might need a gentle reminder or 2 to get this task achieved for you , sadly to say sometimes i lack in the motivation area big time )~~~ when in april is your daughters b'day , my 16 1/2 y.o. son that i've mentioned in the e-mail b'day is april 10th
