Summer Activity Ideas

Hi Moms,

I am looking for some fun summer activities for my 6 yr old daughter to do.
We already live close to a pool so I'm sure she'll be swimming a lot but I'd like
some ideas on fun indoor activities for her. Possibly a learning place or
some type of group activity she can do.

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

Take a look at what your city rec center has to offer. i know in Richardson the options really start to open up once your child hits 6 years old, and they are generally pretty affordable. Some are 1 week camp type programs, others are once a week for a month or more.

Canyon Creek Gymnastics has a summer camp that is very flexible - she could go 1/2 day, whole day, one day or more per week, as many or as few weeks as she wants. Google their name to find their website - the URL is not exactly their name, but you'll find them.

Area churches will hold Vacation Bible School soon, and she might really enjoy that for a week. Dallas Arboretum has summer camps, and there are also some art and cooking schools with camps. Good luck finding some fun things!

Vacation Bible School is a great - cheap - alternative. The City of Plano has activities for a nominal fee in some courses.

Are you anywhere near Carrollton? Our church has a fantastic VBS from June 23 - 27, take a look at the web site: http://www.princeofpeace.org/church/index.htm take a look at Rob Biagi's web site as well: http://robbiagi.com/ click on the link for the video of his new DVD. He's amazing with the kids and this year he's bringing his whole family; with God's help they'll even be able to bring little 2+ year old Natalie who has been battling Leukemia. It's going to be a tremendous experience for everyone. Hope to see you there -- I'll be teaching the 6th graders ... pray for me!
