We have recently relocated to West Springfield and I would like to change pediatricians so I have a doctor who is closer to our new home. Does anyone have recommendations on good pediatricians in the West Springfield/Burke area?

Hello J.

Welcome to the neighborhood.

I've been using Children's Medical Association of Northern Virginia. They have a Burke Office over by GMU in the University Shopping Mall (next to Giant) and they also have a Springfield office. They are very good with their office hours and call hours.

I've only been to the Burke location. Over the past year I've tried to meet with each of the doctors. They are all ok but you do feel sort of rushed sometimes when you have questions. Those visits are better with a nurse practitioner. Their lactation support is awesome.

Good Luck!

I go to the following Pediatrician. They are friendly and the wait time is short. What I like most is they have WELL and SICK area so the kids are separated. They are located about a block away from Springfield Mall going towards Kingstowne.

Pediatric Associates of Alexandria Inc

I recommend The Pediatric Group - they are excellent!

They have several offices, but each office has permanent doctors in it (they don't shuffle around.) The offices have separate sick and well waiting areas, which is great. They have sick appointments on Saturdays at the Manchester office and their call-back service the rest of the time is exceptional. I've had to use it several times, unfortunately. The doctor on-call has always called me back quickly and helped immensely.

We go to the Burke/Fairfax office right next to GMU on Braddock Rd. That office number is ###-###-####. Dr Palumbo and Dr Kapoor are both excellent.
If you'd like something the other direction, the Manchester Lakes office is good as well (we've been there a couple of times.) Their number is ###-###-####.
They also have offices in Lake Ridge and Chantilly.

Good luck!

I would recommend Dr Rees's office. I actually went there as a patient when I was growing up in Burke. They have always had a nice staff and the doctors are great.

Hi J.,
My 3 kids goes to Dr. Staats in Burke, VA. They are a really good pediatric doctor. It's Dr. Murphy & Staats (2 doctors). 5212 Lyngate Ct, Burke, VA 22015, ###-###-####. I changed doctors after I had my 2nd child to Dr. Staats and I am really happy I did, as my kids old doctor did not take as much time. She takes the time to care for your kids and plus they have afternoons and walk-in weekend hours. They also have an allergy center inside the office and lab, so that they do not have to send you to different places just to do a couple of tests! I highly recommend this pediatric office!

Thanks, J.
