Has anyone heard of any good remedies for reducing cellulite? I do not want to have liposuction I am more interested in an exercise or other natural treatment. Also, if anyone could suggest any really good books. I enjoy both fiction and non-fiction. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Nivea makes a really good cream (gel) and patches that can help to improve the appearance of cellulite.
I read a lot, one of my favorite authors these past couple of years has been Jodi Picoult.

I use Avon Cellulite and Stretch Mark Remover cream.

I have four kids and I didn't really exercise after the last one. Kind-of let myself go for a while.

Try it.. http://www.youravon.com/nancybagley

Bikram Yoga is EXCELLENT for cellulite as it promotes circulation to all areas of the body and rids your fatty layers of the toxins that are causing the orange-peel look known as cellulite. There is an awesome studio in Montclair (Bikram Yoga MOntclair). Stay away from any processed foods, ONLY drink water (the chemicals in diet soda, etc. cause cellulite), and try to limit any dairy, meat, sugar, or bread consumption to a minium. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies!!!

Hey K.,
I hate to rain on your hopes here, and by all means try the methods some people say work, but I have heard (and believe) that there's precious little that can be done about cellulite. If you weigh less and are in good shape it's less prominent, but it's one of those things that you have or you don't, genetically.
I am 5'5, weigh 116, bike for transportation and swim 3-5 miles a week and do an hour of yoga three times a week and I still have some cellulite.
I hope your remedies help, but don't be discouraged if you still have the problem.

Hi K.,

I agree with, Shelley. cellulite is genetic you either have it or you don't. Some people get it worse and others have very little. Along with the creams that the other ladies suggested. ahve you ever used firming creams? those tend to work well along with exercise and doing strengthing exercises to the specified areas that you want to see improved! I also swear by coco butter. You have to work at it but those things should help. good Luck!

Hydroderm helps the appearance of cellulite but doesn't get rid of it. Amazon sells it. Not sure if there is anything that actually gets "rid" of it. Good luck :)

short term solution: self tanners work miracles!

long term: losing the pounds, toning up- celullite doesnt go away but shrinks and is less near the surface so it appears to go away. but nothing like toning with weights and losing a few makes it appear much better and then of course the miracle of self tanner!

Hi K., I just wanted to tell you that for cellulite there are many products that can help. My Mom, my sister and I, we all tried the ones from L'oreal, and we all got good results. You can buy them in any pharmacy. The trick is to use them daily. To enhance the results, massage the area for a while till you see the area red, you can also used the Curves waist trimmer and trimming shorts from Avon, after you have applied the creams and massage.
What we did, we took a shower, then massage the areas with a brush applying cream, then put on the trimming shorts and did exercise for 30 min. Not only we lots weight, we also reduce cellulite considerably. It takes a couple of weeks but the results are wonderful!
Good luck!!

I remember reading in "The Fat Flush Plan" by A. Louise Gittleman a very interesting theory as to why cellulite occurs. She was encouraging bouncing on a trampoline for it--but I don't remember all the details so check out that book if you have a chance.

Hi K., Sounds like something we all battle. The first cruise I went on I attended a workshop. We were told to get a natural bristle body brush and brush our skin, legs, inner and outer thighs, arms etc. toward the heart. The theory is that fat(cellulite)cells collect under the skin. they can be broken up this way. I have tried it and it seems to work. I should do it more often but I'm busy taking care of my grandchildren. I did have 5 of my own and my body is not at it's best but it is worth a try. I would love to see the other responses. Hi,
Exercise is an effective way of reducing the amount of cellulite that you have.
Effective exercise programs will need to include cardio, strength training and flexibility training.
You should try working out at least 3 to 4 times a week.
Do body massage. It also helps to restore proper circulation, supplying nutrients to the cells and removing waste materials and toxins from the cells –
and improves the state of the mind.
Try skin brushing. This technique is very simple and relatively inexpensive.Simply use a loofah sponge or a soft body brush and scrub your hips, thighs and belly. This not only helps you to exfoliate, but it also stimulates blood flow and supports lymph functions. This will help to minimize the appearance of cellulite.
You can take quality cellulite treatment cream.
