Suggestions for Doctor(s), Dentist, Eye Care on PHP in Fort Wayne

I would "stay away" from Dr. Talon for a pediatrician. I have had several friends that did not like him or the doctor's office. He did my son's circumcision and my girlfriend's son's circumcision wrong. We both had to find new pediatricians to fix it. Kind of a nasty thing for an infant to have to go through. Additionally, he's more booksmart than he is people-smart. He encouraged several women I've met to continue to try to breastfeed when the milk wouldn't come in. He would be come very "touchy feely" in inappropriate ways.

I did find a great Pediatrician that I absolutely adore. Her name is Andreanna Hodgini. The other doctor in her practice is Dr. Urhammer. They are both great. They have a great bedside manner, very concerned about you mentally and physically. They follow up to make sure you are doing better after the appointment. Their nurses call you back the same day with advice on anything without needing an appointment all the time. They have on-call doctors after hours to answer questions like the nurse would. I can always get in the same day for emergency appointments and scheduled in for something like an ear infection within the next day. Their billing department is easy to work with and helps you make payment plans and will hold off billing if you have an insurance issue... like when my insurance was turned off in error they held bills for about 3 months until I could get it turned back on. They never billed me in the meantime. The office is in the Lutheran Medical Park of I-69, near exit 102B. The name of the building is Family Associates Medical Consultants. ###-###-####.

I thought that I would tell you about my doctor. His name is Dr. Patrick Holly. I think he is wonderful. When I came down with a medical problem several years ago, he addressed it, and then told me up front that he didn't know anything about it, and that I should see somoene else about it. He is always up front about things, and lets you know if he can't help. He usually takes the time to get to know you and your child/ren as well. We have been going there for 11 years and I wouldn't change it for the world. We have four children and whenever we walk into the office, he still knows everyone of them by name. It is a nice feeling. He delivered all of them but the last one, because I had to have a cesarean. But, I really like the idea of having a general practitioner over a specialist. Just because the doctor seems to be able to form a special bond with the patient/child better. Good luck in your decision. You are going to get a lot of opinions over the next few days that will make your decision tough. Say a prayer, and God will lead you to the right choice. Good Luck.

I go to Dr. Sean Brennan at First Care Family Physicians. He is great he is a family physician. In fact my daughter used to go to him before she moved to Muncie, they are now back in Fort Wayne with a 8 week old baby and will be going to him. He is great and I have been going to him for 9 years. He is taking new patients. (my whole family goes to him).

I don't know what side of town you live on, but my absolute favorites out northeast are Dr. Mark Adams (Pediatrician)with Fort Wayne Pediatrics, Dr. Todd Rumsey (OBGYN)with Women's Health Advantage and Dr. Michael Tom (Dentist) I really do like Dr. Tom, but actually I go there becaue I've gone to the same hygenist, Pam, for pretty much my whole life and I love her.

You'll need to double check with your insurance to make sure they are providers. I'd bet that Drs. Adams and Rumsey are, but not too sure about Dr. Tom.

I love Dr. Rusk at PAI (Lutheran Hospital) but I know that not everyone does.

I have been going to New Haven Family Dentistry since 1973. The Dr.s there are now on the third generation with my family. My daughter even wants to be a dentist when she grows up.
