Can anyone recommend a company that puts the stork birth announcements in your yard? If you happen to know the general cost, that would be appreciated, as well.

What can I do next?

When we had our 2nd baby in April, my brother and sister-in-law gout us a stork from VIP Lawn Signs. Phone # ###-###-####. I am not sure on the price but I know they called around for the most reasonable rate and they ledft the stork up for a week! Good luck!

I don't want to scare you, so I'm not sure whether to mention this, but perhaps you saw it in the news this morning. A family in Missouri had a 'stork' sign in front of their house over this past weekend. Mom & 7 day old baby were home. They let someone (with car trouble) come in to use the phone and the person slashed the mother and kidnapped the baby. Mom survived but baby is missing. Officials do not know if the sign was a factor, but the family seems to think so & they are pleading with people NOT to advirtise that there is a new baby in the home.
Again, I'm so sorry that I don't want to scare you. I'm sure the chances of a crime are minimally slim to say the least. Congratulations on your new bundle of love!!! Celebrate the arrival of your new joyous and amazing baby! (Just don't answer the door if you don't recognize the person....same advice to anyone!)

I agree with Charlela's advice. When I had my first child almost 4 years ago, during the birthing class my husband and I took, they discouraged us against putting signs like that on the yard, because of what happened to that poor woman in Mo. When my second child was born, almost two years ago, we put up pink ballons on the lamppost, and any neighbors who knew that I was pregnant, knew that we had a girl. To the passerby, we could have just been having a party. I really don't think it is best to announce to the whole world that your brand new baby is there. There are a lot of crazy people in this world!!! Congratulations on your addition!!!

Babies R Us has them to rent at their store. You could probably do it online too. I am not sure of the cost. Also, if you just google baby stork signs, I am sure you could find a company that way too.

Good Morning. I am not sure were your located but there is a lady who lives in Batavia, Illinois and she does it. My inlaws had it done for me when my daughter was born and when she takes the stork you can keep the name-height-weight plaques. If your local to her I will send you the info if not I'm sorry I can't help.

L.,
I do not recommend using any signs in your yard. The child kidnapped over the weekend that has been all over the news, was kidnapped because that sign was in the yard, and the predetor knew a baby was in the house. At the hospital when I had my son, every nurse said it was a very bad idea to do the signs in the yard for newborns, it puts you and your family at risk! Please reconsider the idea.
