I have another question for all the wonderful moms out there. I do the whole Santa thing, including stockings, leaving the Santa stuff unwrapped, etc. Anyway, I have a really hard time coming up with stocking stuffers for my husband (let alone regular gifts) so I just was wondering, what are some of the things you wives buy for your husband's stocking? Thanks for your input, advice, ideas, etc.

Hi S. -
My husband loves peanuts in the shell - I always get him a big bag that just about fills his sock. He also likes Peanut m&m's - sometimes the stores have trains etc. from m&m's company and we all get a part to the train etc. One year I got Blue Man Group tickets and this year I think I'll be able to get SnowCross tickets. Fun things like that happen in January and you have a date night planned...
Have fun!

I get my husband practical things like, plastic tie wraps, batteries, socks, chapstick, hand and foot warmers, pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters, (he is a teacher)chocolates (3 pack ferrero rochet's), earbuds for his ipod, anything little that will fit in his stocking.

Stocking stuffers for the adults are things that we can use all the time. They sound boring, but finding little things to put in them can be a chore. For example, favorite gum or candy, aftershave, nail clippers, maybe some new head phones for a ipod. Anyway things like that.
Merry Christmas !

Nice socks for hiking, walking, work, running, whatever, Christmas ornament themed to something he likes (e.g. fishing, hunting, sports, etc), favorite snack - DH likes pistachios, cologne/after shave (I like to go to Bath and Body Works for their men's collection).

Others have offered up some great ideas. I'm adding to my own list. Thanks everyone! :)

Normally I buy little items that go along with what he is getting from me. This year we are not able to do gifts for eachother, only stocking stuffers. So I bought him a roll of camouflage duct tape (he is really into camo) and the new scrabble slap game and of course the chocolate orange.

I went from (growing up) stockings being an extra little treat w/the traditional stuff-fruit, a couple of nuts, candy cane & a couple of extra treats to extreme excess (hubby's sis's house) stockings full of body wash, cologne, shampoo, gel/hairspray, makeup, bag of candy, toys, bath pouf, gift cards, lip stuff (chapstick for the guys, OPI lip color for the gals) & more.
I'm downsizing since it's just my fam this year. I got my kids shampoo & body wash of their own (hubby's bald so he gets body wash only), chapstick, toothbrush, I'm making each person a snack baggie of their favorite candies (I make caramels, toffee & chocolate barks) that they don't have to share, Bakugan cards for the kids, a Starbucks card for 2 cups worth for hubby, a puzzle book for each of them (hubby's a crosword junkie so he might get a couple) & that's about it.
My hubby sometimes likes to treat himself to random things that make the bill payer in me cringe. If your hubby does the same, get him a gift card for the cringe-inducer.
It's not meant to be another gift (like SIL made it) but a special treat on top of your gifts (like I had it growing up).
Maybe some car air fresheners, or a gift certficate for a good wash.
My new rule if it doesn't fit in the stocking, it doesn't need to be there.
Thanks for the new & different ideas ladies!

Hello,
1) After shave or cologne.
2) A gift card to the movie theater, that is if you all like doing that kind of thing.
3) A gift card for a coffee place or his favorite place to eat out at.
4) Lotto tickets.
5) You could always give him a hand written gift card for a special night with you, saying whatever his heart desires.
6) A framed picture of you & the baby for his desk.

Hope this might help.

MERRY CHRISTMAS,

C.

My husband and I are foodies so I often do food items...gourmet bbq sauce, coffee, dry rub for grilling, mustard, etc. I also put in items that go along with his "big" gift. Also a gift certificate for The Wave carwash, gum, mints, small packs of tissues, an energy bar, AXE bath wash, shampoo, socks, hair gel, etc. We just do fun smaller stuff. Good luck.

Small tools, grooming kits, nail clippers, special pens, money clips, jewelry, small notebooks, fruit, candy, nuts, jerky, clips or magnets, small photo keepers, travel size personal items. I could probably think of more but that's all my mind will come up with right now.

restaurant, com just came out with gift certificates to their website. So cool, because you can still buy them for $3 with free shipping, and then use them to buy 8 certificates for $3, so for $3, you get $200 of certificates. Any little tools he could use replaced? For the cold nights, my husband likes Hanes the worlds softest sock. They are so warm! You could get them at onehanesplace.com for discount. Search it first. There's a bunch of coupons out on the internet for them, including for free shipping. My husband loves to golf, so every year I give him a certificate for him and a friend for a day of golfing. Hope this helps. I'm going to be checking back, since I usually have a hard time in this department, too. Have fun shopping.

My husband is thrilled every year to receive two full packs of underwear and a pack of undershirts. I've tried to go super creative on him but he actually requests the basics and nearly cries with joy when he sees those new skivvies!Good luck with your stocking stuffing!

i'm probably considered cheap when it comes to stockings, but i do things like favorite candies and fruits, beef jerky, tooth brush, little debbie cakes. we tend to eat what's in the stockings first and do a late breakfast.

We usually find some fun little trinkets, gum, lifesafers, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodarant, a disney movie. Just some fun little things to stuff inside the stocking. Since your daughter is 1, you can put sippy cup, gummy snacks, hair things for her hair, comb and brush. Good luck on finding some wonderful things. Happy Holidays.

I usually buy the same kind of candy as my son gets I even put it in my stocking. For my boyfriend this year I got him a little keychain, a little book stuff like that. I usually don't fill the stocking for the adults (2 adult kids, only one that still believes in santa) so far my little one has never even questioned why he got more, which I am sure makes him fell like santa likes him better LOL.

I asked my husband one year what he wanted for Christmas and he said (jokingly) to win the lottery. So, I got him $20 in lottery scratch tickets and put them in a really nice card and put that in his stocking. Now I do that every year. He has never won much but it is fun.

We usually do a variety of small items for the men, including batteries, snack food, sport gel packets, key rings (LED lights are very popular), bike tubes, socks, and chapstick. I stick an orange in the toe and a paperback out the top and I'm done. If he has a hobby, figure out what consumable thing he needs for that. Lucky for me, my father, hubby, father in law and brother are all cyclists.

Happy holidays and enjoy being a Christmas elf!

buy the 10 pack cereal boxes; you know the small individual ones or use individual oatmeal bowls, then stick it in their stockings. Then they can have their favorite cereal that morning for breakfast. Don't forget the orange in the toe of the stocking! Other traditions we do are chocolate santas, life-saver books, a box of band-aids, and travel size everything, movies, lip balm & card games.

My husband collects knives so I always get him a pocket knife or a straight razor for shaving (He likes to do it old school)
And of course lifesavers and an orange in the toe. I also do Nuts in the shell and various candy and a juvenile toy of some sort. He loved the silly putty and slinky he got one year :)

I always buy my hub a DVD - usually a TV series he really likes and his favorite candy of course. You could throw in a gift card for iTunes or Amazon, a music CD, a tie tack, a new razor or toothbrush. My husband loves to cook, so this year I am putting in a new potato peeler. LOL Just think what he has to do or loves to do and something small associated with that. I'm sure he'll love whatever you choose.
