Does anyone have any good stocking stuffer ideas for a 1 year old. I wanted to get my son a few things to put in his stocking, but I am having trouble coming up with what to get. Any ideas?

My family has a tradition of putting a quarter in the toe of the stocking. The quarter is for the year the person was born. For young kids we just put it right into their piggy bank so they couldn't swallow it. Older kids get to do it themselves. Now they really like looking for the quarter.
We also do a new toothbrush and tooth paste each year. A book and a small toy. You can get small tubs of playdough.

I bought some of those plastic bathbooks and rubber duckies and bath toys. She loved them and they were safe. You can always put in baby cookies or a box of animal crackers or what ever treat they like instead of cnady for this age. Good luck and happy holidays!

I put little bath toys in my 1 now 2 yr olds little stocking. You can also go to the baby section at Wal-Mart or Target and they have little toys for babies that are aged appropriate that fit great into their stockings. :)

Hoped this helped some!

Some ideas:
Playskool and Little Tykes make cute little cars that are safe for toddlers.
Small package of goldfish crackers
some sort of ball -- inflatables work too.
stuffed toy
plastic dinosaur or other animal -- Walmart has some for 88 cents
toddler bib with Elmo or some other beloved character on it
character sippy cup
plastic hammer -- there's one that makes sounds, maybe fisher price makes it
bath toys
color wonder markers and paper
small board books
Fisher Price Little People or
Playskool Weebles

My daughter recently recieved a little thing that has a handle and a ball on top and when she pushes a button something inside the little ball spins and lights up. It says it's for 3 yr or over, but I inspected it for small pieces and there aren't any. She loves it and is great for use in the car. THe mother of the child who gave it said she found it in the party section of Target. ALso, consider sticker books...my daughter is 14 months and loves them.

A tradition in my family growing up was to always get a new ornament in our stockings. We got other little knick knacks too, but out favorite was always what ornament we would get. Every year it had something to do with what we were interested in that year. Now, I just got married and moved to my own home, and I know I have plenty of my own ornaments, that have meaning and represent each year of my life. Good luck!

I have an daughter that will be 9 months at Christmas so I am in a similar situation. What I did was find some cute teethers, small musical toys. They are a little more expensive than what you will have to do when they are older, but because they take up more room you won't have to buy as much. I would also keep it simple and not do too much just for the fact if you are able to get them to open any gifts , it won't take many before they lose complete interest so save your money for when they are old, say like 8 and asking for a real Robot :) Good luck!

I have a 1yr old daughter and i haven't actually gotten anything yet. My plan is at walmart they have these small cardboard books for a dollar each. also they have an asile that has alot of cheap toys and they usually have little character figures, for her birthday she got a bunch of carebears. I know they had pooh, elmo, and spounge bob stuff. target has a great dollar spot. Bath toys. Ohhh walmart has the little tykes cars that they sell in packs of 4 that would be perfect for a boy.

I know this might sound a little weird, but my family has been doing it for years, and we have passed the tradition on to our family. We stuff our stockings with fruit. Oranges, apples, bananas, really anything that will stay good without refridgeration.

We sell our little "I Spy Bags" like crazy on our online baby boutique. Mini ones sell for $5.00 and large ones are $15.00. We have tons of pictures and materials you can choose from. The mini bags are perfect stocking stuffers... we even have Christmas print material for this very reason. Take a look, they really are quite fun, and kids and babies love them!

Here is the description:
Loaded with learning, and stuffed with fun! Kids love these wonderful, multi-sensory learning tools, and are motivated to use them! The look and feel of the colorful 7" x 7" fleece bag pleases both the eye and touch. The 4" vinyl window allows easy viewing of the 50 or more toys which are hidden among the bag filler. The entire interactive toy is self-contained so there are no pieces to lose! Great for encouraging finger manipulation. Also makes a great quiet toy, perfect for traveling, waiting rooms, and sitting in church!

You might try getting some rubber duckies that light up. My 5 month old is so facinated when I put these in the tubs - she forgets that she is taking a bath. I found several on Ebay but you can also check out www.epartyunlimited.com/light-up-rubber-ducky.html

One of the easiest (and free) things I did when my son was a toddler was collect the toys from McDonalds, Wendy's, etc. Whenever I had to get fast food, I'd request the toddler toy with his happy meal and save it (he was too young to know anything came with the meal) and TADA! Instant stocking stuffers!

My son will be 11.5 months at Christmas. So for I've gotten bath toys, socks and a ball to put in his stocking. I'm also thinking about a sippy cup and toothpaste and toothbrush (since he'll be using those sometime soon).

walmart has a isle that has toys that are a dollar ( not all the toys on this isle are a dollar ). You can fill his/her stoking with age appropriate toys, and then top it off with a candy filled candy cane. :)
