I've read several posts where "steppers" were mentioned for exercise. Are we talking about an expensive piece of equipment or is it something small and affordable?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

So Hubby finds me one of those mini trampolines at a yard sale today. I think marching in place on it will be as good as a stepper.
Thanks for your input girls.
What we need is a way to sit at our computer desk and exercise at the same time, my husband took my stationary bike and velcroed my keyboard to the handle bars.... it was a funny contraption, but the seat hurt my butt too much and it was hard to use the mouse... his prototype was flawed yet still a great idea.

Well, there is the mini stepper, or an elliptical
the mini stepper can be bought new for under $50, the elliptical much more.

I have had both items, my mini stepper was good, but noisy and I never did use it - I did use my elliptical a good bit, it feels like you are running, but it soon became a clothes horse.

I now have a treadmill, and I have used it way more than both - I have periods where I don't use it, but cold or hot weather I go back to it - you can watch tv or listen to music, walk or run

From one Grandmother to another I am Nana. You might just consider contacting a mom who isn't using hers and buy it from her cheap and try it out. For me I just use some wood boxes that my son made that is covered in carpet grass and step up and then down or I use the bottom 2 stairs of the stair case for the length of 2 songs on the radio.

I have a stepper, I just don't use it and I need to! It's really small, it just has the foot pedals and the things you hold onto (they're stretchy). I got it at Brookstone a while back for $75.00.

You know what you could get is a small Reebok step.
You put it on the floor in the living room let's say then you buy a video to do a step aerobic routine to.
You might want to try that if you have time and the motivation to do a routine to a video. They were very popular in the 80's but my gym still offers those classes. The step itself might only cost about $50.
