Stay at Home Mom Wants to Earn Money

Is there anyone out there with some good advice on earning money from home? I am a mother of 7 and my youngest is 2 and still breastfeeding. My husband became disabled about 3 years ago due to cancer and subsequent chemo damage. I help take care of him here at home and my 2yr old during the days while other kids are at work and/or school. Then evenings are full of homework helping and school events and sports events. Needless to say- leaving the home to go out to a job is out of the question right now. I have sold Avon in the past and had a large local newspaper route. I make homemade soap and candles for fun and to give as affordable gifts, too. All of the advertised so-called home employment opportunities are really only high cost investment schemes. (At least the ones I have recieved) I really need to earn some money without a huge investment, so if anyone has any good advice-I could really use it.

What can I do next?

I might have a job idea for you. It is a work from home job... and it doesn't cost a thing! Plus it is legit!!! It's an internet based business. I researched it for three weeks before starting because I was so apprehensive about work from home jobs. It is not a sufficient income (definitely not a get rich quick) but it will provide for a little extra money.

The job requirements include that you must...
~ be at least 18
~ a US resident
~ be able to spell correctly, use correct grammar, and be fluent in english
~ like working with people and have a polite, courteous and somewhat professional (yet friendly) approach with people
~ be able to navigate the internet with ease
~ have high-speed internet (DSL or CABLE)

I would love to give you more info, there is tons to know about this oppertunity! If you (or anyone else on here) are interested please email me at After researching it for 3 weeks and have been doing it for over 2 weeks (plus know the person who refered me in has been doing it for about 6 months) I can honestly say that this business is legit. Contact me if your interested and I will give you a lot more details!!

I'm involved in a wonderful work from home company and it is totally different than say avon, no parties to host or anything like that, and no sales. It is also an Inc 500 company and you can look it all up online and see that it is a real company which I thought was very nice. The jist of the program is that you market the company form home in your free time and have ppl sign up and try out the website and order the products from there, so there is no inventory and no money to handle, the company then pays you once a month. There is a low start up cost after teh first 4 months is up and it is 39.00 and it cost me about 9.00 to set up my website so I could jsut give out my site to ppl. if you're intrested conntact me and I can email you the information and you can look it all up for yourself and then if it's something you want to do I can get you signed up. Also if you know anyone out there that is into the all natural household items out there this is a great site to order from, the prices are great and all the products are completely natural, safe and work great. You can drink the tubb and tile cleaner and just burb up bubbles, and the disinfectant cleaner is as good as bleach with no dangerous fumes or warnings about what not to mix it with. I look forward to hearing from you. Good luck with your search. Kari

God Bless You! 7 Kids and husband's caretaker. I can tell you are a great person and a smart visionary. Your daily life is totally different from anyone else's and that's why you deserve whatever you want in this life. SOrry, I'm "long winded" so to speak :)
My name is L., I'm 24yo and my 1yo just started daycare a couple weeks ago. She's already got a virus missed almost a week and ITS KILLING ME! I hate leaving her there to go my job which I don't want to be at...Anyway, that was an old decision I had made and to change it I just had to make a new decision. A decision to take control of my own life. Its crazy I didn't realize there were so many people that felt like me about this. I feel like my daughter deserves to be with me more than just in the morning and at night while she's asleep. Plus, I worked at home for 6 months, so I really want that back but making 10times more money. SO with all that said, I want to share and experience with you. This is a real opportunity to create your life the way you really want it to be. You are a visionary, I can tell because you already understand the power of time and how it relates to making money.
I'm new on this site, I don't know much about the communication capabilities yet on here :) I can share more of what I did to eliminate economic slavery as a way of life for me and my family. my email is

Hi J.,
I'm sort of new to Mamasource, so I just read your posting about a home job. I read that you are into soaps and candles and thought you might be interested in what I do. The name of the company is Scent-sations, Inc. and they make gormet candles along with many other soaps and products. They pretty much sell themselves and when you sign up you get your own web site (you can view mine at and you can be as active as you want, or as layed back as you want. The company is nationally known and I have had no problems or issues with them. I am a candle lover and once I smelled their candles, and learned that they are all soy, I was hooked! I only joined because I wanted to get the candles at cost...I wasn't really interested in selling per se, but all my friends and family LOVE the products, and it's turned into a pretty good way of making money. If you are interested, take a look at the web site, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or if you are interested in learning more. Good luck in your search for the right job!

I have a 15 month old daughter, who I stay home with full-time, and have just recently become a Pampered Chef consultant. I do cooking demonstrations at home parties with amazing kitchen products. I absolutely love it!! I make about $20-$25 / hour and work for myself. You can do with this business what you'd like - it is very flexible. I work when she naps and then go to my parties a few nights a month when my husband comes home from work. The Pampered Chef is really an unbelievable company. The support that I have received from everyone that I have met has been incredible. Some people became consultants to take the place of their full-time jobs, while others did it to pay off a credit card or get out of the house. If you (or anyone else) are interested in finding out more information, please feel free to e-mail me at or check out my personal website at

Here is some additional info about this opportunity:

20%-25% commission - great promotion potential
Ability to earn free products (I earned $2000 in free products during my first 3 months)
Unlimited Growth Potential - personal and financial independence
Free Training - audio, video and one-on-one personal training
Flexibility - you work when YOU want to work
Personal development - monthly workshops, newsletters and info meetings
Tax Benefits - multiple home-based business deductions
Travel Awards - can be earned for yourself and your family
NO inventory - your starter kit is all you need
NO Delivery - all products shipped directly to the customer by the company
NO Industry Saturation - only 70,000 consultants currently in US, Canada, UK and Germany
Low start-up investment - $155 gives you products, training & supplies
Low pressure environment - educational, entertaining and fun!

The Pampered Chef is the #1 retailer of kitchen tools in the US.

I would love to tell you more about this opportunity and hope to hear from you! Good luck with your job search!

Take care,
K. L.

Since you have to stay home, maybe you could provide before and after school daycare. There are a lot of people that need this service and daycare centers charge so darn much for it.

I am a stay at home mom too and to earn a little extra money I sold stuff on Ebay. It is free to sign up and kind of fun. It does help if you have a digital camera to take pictures and load them on the computer but it isn't required. What sells is baby clothes and maternity clothes and things like that but you can pretty much sell anything! It is like a garage sale online!

Could you tey to sell your candles and soaps on ebay? That is a very low cost way to sell. If no one buys you aren't out anything. I am also a broke stay at home mom!
