Stay at Home Mom, or Back to Work?

Hi,

I am expecting my second child in June. My son just turned 2. I have not been feeling real well during this pregnancy so working full time and taking care of my son is quite a challenge some days! My husband is a huge help, but I have a hard time letting him do everything while I'm resting on the couch!
I do Documentation Control for an electronics manufacturing company, full time. I really enjoy it most days, but I'm starting to feel like I would like to be a stay at home Mom after this new baby is born! However, realisticlly I don't think we will be able to afford our house and everything else just on my husband's income. I was wondering about any jobs I could do while at home? The only bad part- I don't have a college education! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi D.,

I just read your post and was wondering if you ever found something to do from home. The company indicated by Gina and Elaine, I know well. If you have not gotten information from them I would suggest you do. It is a family oriented company and very reputable. I am also associated with the company and I would also like to offer my time to get you details so you can make an informed decision.

Since I am such a skeptic, this was something I had to think long and hard about, but did a lot of research with the comsumer protection agencies and decided to give it a try, because I only received great reports.

So if you are still looking, get back to one of them or me. My number is ###-###-#### and my email address is ____@____.com.

Hi D.,
I may have something that would help you out. I would love to have a quick phone conversation with you to see if my company would be a good fit for you and to see if you would be a good fit for my company.
I have done many things and many are really tough. Pampered Chef, Mary Kay, Lia Sophia, they're all great if you want to be a hard core sales person. Your friends and family only want to have so many parties for you and to me that is just another job. If you are not out doing home parties you're not making any money. I have something so much better. If you would like some more information please feel free to call me at ###-###-#### or email me at ____@____.com
My passion is working with moms who want to stay home with their little ones. The day you fire your boss will be one of the best days for both of us.

PS- I too just had a baby and this company on its way to giving me the financial freedom I need to be there for my family the way I want to be. I can't wait to share it with you!

When I went back to work I worked out an arrangement where I do my job out of my home. As most of my work was done on the computer and over the phone it worked out and now I save time by having no commute. My daughter still goes to daycare. Before quitting your current job you might want to see what type of flexibility they may be able to offer. Perhaps you could do some job sharing or become a part time employee. While it may seem hard to have the conversation, if they say yes it will be a lot easier than starting new.
