What can I do next?

I took it back a few years ago. I got pregnant but sadly had a miscarriage not to long after finding out.
I too had no side effects.
Wish you the best,

I used it twice. It was effective for the first baby but not the second. I had no side effects either time.

I took clomid 50mg and got pregnant the first month on it. I took it at night as well. I had moderate headaches while on it, and more twinges/pains with ovulation that month, but it apparently did what it was supposed to do. I was only on it for one cycle, so I can't predict beyond that. I think the higher the dose, the side effects can worsen. Best of luck, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I was scared to take it as well!!

Hi,

Saw your post about starting Clomid. I am currently on 50mg. I've taken it now for 4 months straight. We aren't pg yet. It took me a long time before I agreed to take the clomid. I had read about the horror stories. I called it the evil drug. I finally broke down and took it to try 1 month to see how it would go.

I had little side effects. I took mine days 3-7. 4 hours after I took it for the first time I got a mini hot flash. Then that night I got a headache. The next few days I felt myself getting very grumpy and angry so I had to control that and it passed after a few days. I continually got the headaches from days 3-7 and they progressively got worse. But not too unbearable. On day 8, headaches were gone and moodiness has subsided.

The 2nd month I decided I couldn't deal with the headaches so I started taking my pills at night with my dinner. 3 months and NO SIDE-EFFECTS!!! I don't know if the night has something to do with it or not but it works wonders for me.

A friend of mine just found out she's pg. We started clomid at the same time. She too had side effects. Only she lost weight (lucky girl), got headaches and was moody. After the 2nd month she too started taking the pills at night. She noticed a huge decrease in the side effects as well.

Good luck! Hope it works for you! If you have any more questions or want someone to talk with about it, please feel free to contact me. ____@____.com

I took clomid to concieve my 2.5 year old daughter (worked first try), and am on my first cycle of it for #2. I don't remember any side effects the first time I took it besides a little bit of o pain one day, but this time around I've been moody (slightly worse than PMS), and had pretty bad ovulation pain for several days followed by spotting for a couple of days.
The first time I took it I was on 50mg days 3-7, this time it's 50mg days 5-9. Not sure if that makes a difference with the side effects.

Overall, the side effects of this drug are not too bad, and deffinately worth it if it works! If I end up needing another round next month, I wouldn't think twice about it.

Hi J., I agree with Erika and would take it at night as well. She is right about the higher doses and side effects. I really didn't have side effects till we started doing injections and even those weren't horrible. Everyone's body is so different and I think it would be hard to predict how yours will respond. I think the key is exercise, make healthy eating choices, open lines of communication with your spouse and get your rest. These things will help immensely. I hope everything goes well! Blessings, J.

I did 3 rounds, got pg on the 3rd round, miscarried and then immediately got pg again. My son is now 2.5 years old.

Most of the side effects really don't get bad until you get into the higher doses, so don't be too afraid.

My best advice is to take it at night that way you are asleep when the bulk of the side effects would hit you.

Best of luck!!

I took 2 rounds but never got pregnant. The only side effect for me was similar to hot flashes. Especially at night...I was very hot. I'm normally a cold natured person so it was uncomfortable but definately bearable. I didn't have the mood swings. I now have one daughter who just turned 2 and she is adopted.

I feel compelled to reply to emails like this because I went thru 6 miscarriages and all the fertility medicines. I know you are not in a place to hear this right now but just try to keep it in your mind. Fertility medicine causes many illnesses. I was perfecty healthy and now have Graves disease and high bllod pressure and I am convinced the treatments caused this. Too long a story to explain but I finaaly adopted a beautiful boy who is now 7. I know what it feels like to have the desire for your own bio children. Believe me I would not even TALK about adopting and now I kick myself for being so stupid. A woman once said to me anyone or thing even an insect can have offspring but not all can be mommy's. We get caught up with all the BIOLOGICAL stuff. And adopting is just like having the child yourself. I wish I had listened when people had told me this. Those meds can really affect your body and also put you in early menapuse. They all say they are fine but I PROMIDE they are not!!!
Hope you don't mind this!

I took 4 rounds of it about 6yrs ago and I never noticed any bad side effects even with the higher doses. I didn't get pregnant on it though. I did get pregnant on the first round of shots and never notices any bad side effects with those either.
My daughter is now 5 and my OB wants me to give clomid a try again. I'm thinking about it.
