I am beginning my second trimester with my second child and I just found out my doctor and St. Francis hospital are dropping Anthem. I have heard mixed comments about Community South hospital and Methodist is about a thirty minute drive from my home. I live in Greenwood. Does anyone have any recommendations or insights on an OB GYN or hospital. I'm fairly new to the area and I'm a stay at home mom so I haven't heard much. Thank you!

Do you live on the south side of town? I'm not familiar with that area, but I can highly recommend St. Vincent Women's Hospital at 86th and Township Line Rd. I don't know how long it would take you to get there but it's a great hospital! I had my 19 month old son there and had a wonderful experience. I'm pregnant with number two and plan to deliver there this time as well. I also highly recommend my OB/GYN, Dr. James Jarrett. He is absolutely wonderful! I couldn't have been happier with the care I received. I'm really looking forward to my upcoming appointments with this pregnancy. If you have any more specific questions please send me a message.

I have had friends who have had their children at Community South and had a great experience. I personally drive to Community North from the Greenwood/Whiteland area. It takes me about 40 minutes. My friend sees Dr. Asdell(sorry I don't know the first name). But she practices out of Community South and St. Francis. My friend had wonderful experiences with this doctor. If you are willing to go to Community North, my doctor is Dr. Cathy Carr. I am on baby number 3 and she has been awesome every time.

You don't say what side of town you are on, I'd assume south. If you want to make the trek, Dr. F. Keith Bean at Castleton Obstetrics / Community North Hospital is who I go to. I really liked him as he was straight with any potential complications with my pregnancy, told us his thoughts/reservations, and allowed us to make our own decisions.

I am on the Southside also and I go to the Coleman Center for Women at the IU Medical Hospital downtown. I had my son there 3 years ago and it was a wonderful experience. My doctors name is Gregory Raff but there are a lot of doctors there to choose from. They also have high risk maternal fetal specialists (which was good for me being an older mom) and an underground passageway directly to Riley Hospital in case there are any problems at birth. Good luck with your search!
