Hi Moms,

I'm looking for sports/activites for my little guy. He will be 3 in May. So far, I found soccer and basketball at www.hvsports.com. The only issue is that it's located in Canton and I'm in Eastpointe. Any suggestions or recommendations?

What can I do next?

The hockey program at St.Clair Shores is excellent but non-residents have to sign up this month. Call the SCS Civic Arena for info. Total Soccer in Fraser has soccer for little ones and the spring indoor season starts soon. It's a wonderful sport for kids to learn and you meet a lot of really nice families.

Try www.i9sports.com. Or Total Soccer in Royal Oak or Fraser.

We got my son involved in soccer through the Neighborhood Club in Grosse Pointe last year. He loved it! I think he was just about to turn 3 when he started. It's a little bit pricey, but it was really a great program. Their website is www.neighborhoodclub.org. I think soccer was the only offering for kids that young, but as he gets bigger they have all sorts of sports. Good luck!

Check out Total Soccer in Fraser (14 1/2 and Utica). They have a ton of programs for all ages. SoccerTots is what you would want. They have a new session starting in about 2 weeks. My son just did the Koala one and there were some kids that were 2 1/2 up to 3 1/2. Just be aware, that they don't do all soccer the whole time at this age. They do some games with cones and the parachute and stuff too. They will usually let you try one class for free as well I think. http://www.totalsoccerinc.com/fraser/clinics.htm

Also, check out your community programs. I signed my son up for a sports
clinic that is 5 weeks long through Clinton Township Parks and Rec. It is in May and for 3+ year olds and they go through a bunch of different sports with them. I think you could sign up for that too even though you are not a resident.

And try the YMCA. They usually have some sports clinics for 3+ as well. I know they have them at the Mt. Clemens one. But, the St. Clair Shores one might have them too.
