Hey mommas-

I am located in Chicago and want to organize a ladies day at a spa for myself and SIL's. I would love to find the kind of spa where you spend the whole day and then maybe a stay over for one night. We'd like a place we could all get some kind of massage or body treatment and then maybe mani/pedis. A place that has a hot tub and sauna and hotel on the property or close by. Something within 2 hours driving distance from Chicago. Does a place like this exist? Or just the for the rich and famous =) Let me know and thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the suggestions ladies! I was super tempted to do Sundara (it looks awesome )but with price and distance--Grand Geneva couldn't be beat. They are running a special right now where you get the second night free and 30% off spa services so we are going 2 nights for only $164 including taxes and then massage and pedicures for $130 per person. I am so excited and I made it on Mother's Day and am taking my mom as a surprise =) Buh-Bye hubby and child--I am going to the spa! Thanks again.

Sundara Spa in WI Dells! This may be farther than you want to go but it is AMAZING!

My friend and I went there and stayed overnight. We had massages, facials and mani/pedi's. The rooms were gorgeous and the food was awesome. And they had a heated outdoor pool that we swam in in February-super cool! The whole atmosphere and surroundings were just so beautiful and relaxing, we definitely felt like celebrities! Expensive, but definitely an experience to remember.

I am sure the more luxurious hotels would have this but the Lake Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva WI has a spa and great packages. My niece had her reception there and they had the brochures. A woman I talk to on the train said they went up last month for a girl's weekend and it was fantastic.

My immediate thought was Kohler, WI. It's a little bit further than you requested. I stayed at the American Inn and it was nice. The spa looks like it's been redone and very nice.

I agree with Lake Geneva - The Abbey or Grand Geneva. We used to go there on Girls weekends (prior to children). It is not cheap, but we would look into spa packages just for the day, and stay at a less expensive hotel for the night. We always treated ourselves to a shopping day in the area (Kenosha outlet malls), and a nice dinner. One year we went to a spa in Chesteron, IN. It was a bit run down, and truly not as nice as Lake Geneva. However, that trip, we also spent the day at the Michigan outlet malls, which are better than Kenosha. My girlfriend raves about Kohler, but it is expensive.

You can do all the above at the Four Seasons on Michigan Ave. Other than that there are also Eagle Ridge Resort and another one at can't remember out in the West suburbs (bloomingdale area). You can also try Gevena - Harrington.
