We are doing a video slideshow for our daughter's 1st birthday (party is Saturday, nothing like the last minute!) We will be using a lullaby from a CD that has her name in it (song is "One in a Million") and would like something a little more spunky, upbeat for the 2nd song. We used "My GIrl", "Zipadee-doo-dah", "You are My Sunshine" and "Girls Just want to Have Fun" for our older daughter, so we would like to do something different, and she's too little to have a favorite song and isn't really "in to" anything yet (Barney, sesame street, etc). I have tried a couple websites, but get a lot of the same traditional stuff (Butterfly Kisses, This One's for the Girls", etc) and I just can't think of a peppy apprpriate song for a one year old--but I know there are many out there! I have been posting many ??s lately and have been thankful for the responses (and have actually responded to a very similar request as this, but it was for an anniversary--funny how you can think of stuff when it's not your own project!)--anyway, thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

We used "What a Miracle" by Hap Palmer for our son's first birthday slideshow. Cute and upbeat song for little ones.

I did a video dvd for my son's birthday and two songs that I used that worked great were the Charlie Brown Theme Song and Somewhere Over the Rainbow during the picture slide show part.

In the other part of the DVD I was using video clips, soI didn't want the music to have lyrics so you could hear the coos and funny things people said. For that part of the video I found that Itunes has a large selection of karakoke versions of popular songs. So for example, I found a version of a Coldplay song played on piano with no lyrics. It was perfect background music for a video!

Have fun - these video/slideshows are the best projects to work on! I wish I could do it as my job!

There is a Garrison Keillor cd called Daddy's Girl that has some really fun songs that our daughter loves. I would guess you could find it on iTunes.

My sister created our wedding slide show for us, and of couse our daughter had her own section... we Previewed it the night before our wedding and I ran out of the room crying! lol. But I loved it, I just don't like crying infront of people! and Brown Eyed girl... if your daughter has brown eyse of course.
