Hi ladies I want to get some suggestions from the women of the world.
I have one of the best hubbyies in the world. To kind of let you in on what I mean I will tell you my story. My husband & I will be married 14 yrs in July, we have 2 wonderful girls. An we are each others BF. We talk everything GOOD ,BAD,and the UGLY. and NEVER goto bed mad. I have always knew what I had with him but it all came VERY clear on May 3rd of this year. I went to work an felt great and by 12:30pm I was in the ER having what looked like a stroke. I'm only 37 and health, no drugs, I don't drink, But I smoke. It turns out that I have a rare chornic disease called Hemipalegic Migraine. The day was a complete blurr, but as the wk went on I got bits and peaces of the day back. I do remember the complete and udderly look fear in my husband's face. The one thing I thought I would never see on him.I couldn't move my left side, my face was twisted to the left and I refused to look at myself for 3 days. Because i knew that I would get so depressed that I wouldn't be able to face my husband. As the days went on I gained use of my limbs and my face went back to normal, but i had to go into a inpatient rehab to regain my motor skills and streight. THE whole time my husband was right by my side. When he wasn't there he was taking the girls from place to place and looked so pulled together and refused to let me do anything or wanted me to woory about ANYTHING at all/ Except to get stronger so I could get home. I focused on that more than you could imagine. In 2 wks I was home. Now I am home and can't relly do alot but clean and cook not what i really want to doall the time. I would love to do yard work and go for walks.Oh did I mention I had to quit smoking cold turkey? So i haven't had a smoke in over 30 days and I am A momgillia and the wife from heel. My husband is so cool and collected he tell me that he understands and is by my side and that I am not goin threw all of this alone. Which I know this and that I am SOOO greatful that he and the girls are so supportive. And that is why I need to do something special for him and the girls.
so PLEASE HELP ME OUT WITH ANY SUGGESTIONS.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Hi ladies, I REALLY loved all of your advice. And I 'm letting you know what I have decided to do....... I talked to our girls and we are going to make a CD of songs that are dear to our hearts as a couple and songs that remind me of him. Tomarrow I am making the the whole day about him!! The girls have agreed to do the yard work for him. I am making he favorite foods From Breakfast to LATE NIGHT snack HAHAHAHA. Cleaning his car and just letting him CHILAX as the girls would say. I have already did the house work and landry so that is out of the way. The WHOLE day is his, and if there is something he wants to do it will be done... DEPENDING on the cost. HAHAHA. Some of u r wondering how old the girls r. They are 12 & 14. Plus I wrote all of my feelins in a letter. So hopfully everything I do he will enjoy.
Thanks Again Ladies u r GREAT!!

Thank you cards and Cake would be nice. Sometimes just showing people that u appreciate them is enough. Glad you are having a good recovery and that God has blessed you with a great family. Keep them close to your heart because a lot of people wish they had what you have and I understand how you feel. I passed out at work a few months ago, busted up my eye and lip needed stitches. My husband and kids had that same look of fear (like they didn't know what they would do without me) see I lost my baby sister in Dec, she passed out one night and was gone the next morning, so imagine what my family was thinking. Anyway, that's when I realized how much my husband really loved me he never left my side stayed right there until the last stitch was done and until I was able to go back to work did things I never thought he would like cook supper. As for the smoking that was the last day I smoked a cig quit cold turkey also. June 8th will make 5 months since I've had one so good luck and God Bless!!!!!!!!Oh, I'm only 37 also.

Sit down and put your feelings in writing to the best of your ability, you may want to do it for each girl also. In this way from time to time he can reread your feelings for him. There is nothing more a husband can have is to know how much he is loved.
If something did happen to you he would have something he can always turn to, so you may want to put a picture with it!

God Bless

C.,

I have a special relationship with my husband also. We just had our 19th year anniversary last week. Though we've never been tested as you have yet. I think that if he just reads what you just wrote it would really mean alot! Good luck and stay strong with the smoking cessation!

God Bless R.

Tell him how amazing you think he is, and how much you admire him for the way he handled the situation. Tell him how lucky you are to have him. Then ask him if you can do anything for him to show your appreciation for him being the best hubbie in the world! Maybe a camping trip, race, or whatever. Maybe he wants a weekend with "the guys" . He is deserving! I wish I had found someone like that!

Awww! What a great guy, and I truly hope you're feeling better! What a rough time! Maybe get him a gift card for something he really loves that he hasn't been able to dedicate time to while helping you... does he enjoy fishing? Movies? Sports?... or get him a 'manly' watch or something, engraved with something like 'you're my hero'... I don't know, my head hurts like crazy and I can't think, but you're right, he sounds like he deserves it. Best wishes!

Wow, C., you've been through a lot! Are you on BC pills? There is a strong correlation between BC pills, smoking, and strokes. I'm glad you have quit smoking! Your husband sounds like a really great man. You are blessed indeed. Be sure to thank him specifically for all he is doing. Vocalize all of your praise to him. Tell him how much you respect him. That's important. Men need to know how much we respect them. It's like oxygen to them. I'm not sure about what sort of gift for him or the girls. I think your recovering is a huge gift to them! They know it, too! And, a thankful attitude, loving words, patience with yourself as you recover, joyfulness - all these things are way more important than a thing you could possibly buy. Blessings to you and your precious family.

Wow. You are a strong woman. I praise you for quitting cold turkey. I know that it is hard. I'm still trying. You are blessed to have a husband like that. Mine is the same way. Maybe if you feel up to it, you could give him a really nice long massage! I knew my husband likes that more than anything! You don't say how old your girls are, but girls are more sentimental so anything from the heart would be meaningful for them. Bake them cookies or find something they would like on the internet. Or just have a heart to heart talk with them letting them know how much you appreciate them. I wish you the best of luck and hope everything works out for you. T.
