I live in North Austin and have been trying to think of a way to give my 3 year old daughter more social interaction. She is at home during the week days with her father and with me and the baby at night. She has a great imagination and loves to play. I am looking for any ideas for activities to get her involved with other children her age. I have even thought of taking her to day care part time, but money is an issue.

What can I do next?

A few good Ideas would be liek a mother's day out program which is just a few days aweek or even something like Gymboree. Those are a couple if ideas as the kids get to play and interact with each other.

Hi C. ,
I live in North Austin as well and am looking for the same ideas . I have a 2 year old daughter and a 3 year old daughter . I am looking for other little girls for my girls to play with . It seems that all of my close friends only have sons and my 3 year old is more of a girly girl .
If You would be intrested in ever getting the kids together let me know . We visit a park on Anderson Mill around 3 times a week & are always looking for other toddler friendly activites to do .

You might look into a MOPS group.

I also know that Redeemer Lutheran Church has a Moms Group (Mom's About Raising Kids) that meets on Fridays. . .

C.,
Taking your daughter to the park during the morning is a very great thing to do. You get to meet nannies and other moms/dads there and they encourage social interaction with other kids. Once they see you there for a few times, it will seem like a routine and see many of the same faces from there you can set up play dates. I totally understand the 'money issue' but check around and there is some free stuff to go and do with kids that involve many other kids. Also try your church, they usually offer day care for your child while you are in mass. That will also give your daughter a chance to become social with other children. Hope you the best - God Bless, Gracie

Hi C.,

I live in North Austin as well, and I am looking to put my 3yr old daughter with some kids her age. Maybe we can get together sometime. My personal email is ____@____.com. Daycare P/T may be good for your daughter, so she can get use to being with kids her age and learn from them as well. Also, if money is an issue, I would love to help. Take a look at my web site www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/U.. If you like what you see shoot me an email.
