Hi out there. I am considering starting a Tiny Tot Soccer League here in Portland for ages 2-5 year olds. My son will be 2 in October, and he already LOVES soccer..dribbling, kicking. So I am planning on starting a beginning skills/fun Soccer day once a week in August.

Is there any interest out there for this> If so, let me know and I can start registering folks!

A little about my soccer background.. I began playing Soccer at age 4 and eventually played on an International team at age 16. My father, who immigrated to the US from Italy, always coached our teams, and my whole family continues to play soccer.. I coached my little brother's team ( age 6 and under) years ago. so anyway, if you would like your young child to get an early start on enjoying some fun/non-competitive soccer, lets get it going!

If there is already something like this in Portland, I have not heard of it, or found it, has anyone else heard of something like this for children under 5? If so , I would love to know. Thank you!

So What Happened?

Hi everyone! Thank you for your responses. After doing some research, I decided to start my own Soccer club, one that really allows young children to be exposed to the game of outdoor Soccer in a fun way, where every child will have use of their own soccer ball, and will even receive a medal at the end of each session. I will include info from my flier. Happy Summer everyone!

“Toto” Soccer Club comes from the nickname Toto, used by Salvatore Schillachi, Sicilian star Soccer player in the 1990 World Cup!

F. is also Sicilian and has been playing Soccer since age 4, moving onto an International Team at age 16 as well as coaching her younger brothers’ tiny tot team.

We hope you can join us for a fun and playful introduction to the wonderful world of SOCCER!!

ages are flexible

Portland Indoor has a Lil' Kickers program. I wouldn't call it a league, it is classes from 18mos and up. Its very well attended and I think the instructors seem quite good. My DH takes our daughter on Saturday mornings, but they have groups during the week as well. I would check them out. Good Luck!

Hi F., Depending on what side of town you are on, and the cost I think my family would be veryinterested. We have a little guy who will be 5 in January, and I really want to see him involved in a sport like soccer. Let me know!

There's an indoor soccer tots program in Tualatin. I don't know if that's too far from where you live. Here's the link to the website. Good luck finding what you are looking for!

Where in portland are you thinking of having it? I have a little boy who also turns 2 in october and he loves loves loves playing with balls. I actually have three boys under 5 and even though the youngest is the only one that is that interested so far I think the others would really like it too. I would be interested in the details! Let me know ... D.

My son would love it. We are in as long as the cost is reasonable. It would be great to get him the activity he needs from such a great game!

I know Parks and Rec does a lot of soccer stuff even for little ones. Not sure if it's a "league" or not, maybe just fun classes. Anyway, you might want to check that out.
