Any soapmakers are on here???
I'm already making melt and pour soap and have 2 very good suppliers, I want to start making cold processed soap and looking for a closer supplier for my materials to save on shipping costs.
I live in the Chicagoland area....
Thank you :)

Try Columbus Foods it supplies soapmakers of oils in large quantity. But if it is just for hobby and home use you can go to a local health food store for items. Of course they will cost a bit more. Is there a restaurant supply place near you? They may order for you. Email if you have other questions.

I found good supply resources from the Soapmaker's Companion book. My book is kind of old, maybe you can see if there is a recent copy in your local bookstore or library--check out the appendix for supply information.

You're doing this as a hobby, right? Not to save money? Cause, it's way expensive to make soap, compared to buying. I've bought my supplies at Hobby Lobby, but I have never made a "boat load" of soap before.

If a hobby - soap away ;)
