My daughter is 5.5 and I haven't seen much that is in the "must buy" category.

Any thoughts?

We have a bike. I am not getting anything electronic (DS, pads, xbox) because she has shown very little interest in the past. But she has been asking for that stuff :) She asks and then never uses.

My 4 year old is getting a mobigo with a game, the littlest petshops walking animal treehouse, a scooter, candy land, a 3 or 4 wheeler (from Grandpa) and a silly hair lalaloopsy.
She also just had a birthday and got a ton of walking littlest petshops, a my little pony called Princess Celestia (big hit!), a lalaloopy doll, a doodle bear, and some Texas Rangers gear (we were headed to the World Series).

So far as "IN" gifts - I think the little robot Fijits will be big. Air swimmers - radio controlled Nemo that flies through the air and also the kid tablets. Innovo and Leappad made ipad like tablets for kids. I noticed Baby Alive is back this year. And my 4 yr old has mentioned Lalaoopsy.

My Black Friday eye is on an XBOX 360 with Kinect. Kinectimals is going to thrill my baby girl. I also bought her a digital camera and will get her a bike.

great Q - I have a 5.5 yo too, and a 4 yo. We're thinking about Kinect as a family game. Not sure if they're a little young for this - there are family type of games we can play on it but it may be hard for them to remember to keep their bodies in alignment with where the thing can read them.
Also we're going to buy them dancing lessons at a place near us, and under the tree we're going to put the leotards, ballet slippers and tu tus.
I was thinking about the Our Generation dolls.
My 4 yo wants this crayola thing I forget what that she saw a commercial for.
And they've mentioned those lalaloopsy or whatever the heck they are dolls. What are they???

My mom wanted to get my niece a Lalaloopsy silly hair doll but she couldn't find one so she asked me to look and all the local stores are sold out so it must be a popular item.

My other niece *needs* a DS because everyone else on the bus has one.

Can you take her to your local toy store and just let her look around and take pictures of what she really likes? We do this for our boys every year. They dont watch much TV so I can't get ideas from that.

Air Swimmers has bad reviews.
Fijits are to me, not worth it.

Maybe get your 5.5 year old, a bike????

Or, what is also great are, "Webkinz."
Kids love that too, and its cute.

My daughter, wants a hammock. But she is 9.

There is something called Lite Sprites. They are at Target. TRUS didn't have any in yet. They come with a wand and a sprite. You can add more sprites and things but if you don't have the wand it doesn't work. Also, my daughter wants the barbie with the hair braid extentions . They are both in the catalog.Happy shopping=)
