Snap-and-Go Strollers

I was just on the phone with a friend who recommended a Maclaren snap-and-go instead of the Graco. I am getting a Graco Snugride carseat and both can accomodate the carseat. Any suggestions for either snap-and-go?

I am getting a Volo and a baby jogger as well...this is just for when the baby is in the snugride car seat.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for everyone's feedback. I have decided to not get a snap-andp-go afterall and get a Maclaren Techno XLR because I can use it for much longer! It is an umbrella stroller that has an attachment for a car seat, it has shocks, the seat can come off to be washed, and it reclines all the way for an infant! What could be better? Thanks again!

We had the Graco snap-and-go and worked great for us. Our kids were in the infant seat for the first year. We used the snap-and-go tons, especially when they were sleeping. I think the snap n go is well worth it!

i opted for the metrolite as well as it matched the snugride car seat, and i'm still using the metrolite (my son just turned 3)...whereas the snap-and-go has a very short life! i ditto the poster who was so keen on maclarens though. when my son was almost 2, i picked up a volo (i think it was...or whatever the next size up from the volo is...)for a trip. now that's the only one i keep in my car (so much smaller and lighter weight), so its perfect for the quick zip through the mall/travel, where as we still use the metrolite for longer outings/walks (a bit sturdier, basket holds more, cup holders for kid & parent, etc).

We used a graco snugride with the matching graco metrolite stroller. Not sure how many strollers you are planning to get, but you won't use the snap n go for that long--maybe 6 months tops...In addition to our metrolite we have a jogging stroller.

I LOVE my Maclaren stroller. This is a review coming from a buggy junky. I have had and used: Graco Metrolite, Graco Quattro, Zooper Air, Maclaren Volo and Maclaren XLR. If I had it to do all over again (with my 20/20 hindsight vision that is), I would have bought a Maclaren XLR FROM THE BEGINNING and saved myself about $700 outright. The Maclaren XLR is an actual stroller and it is compatible with carseats using the included adaptor bar for infant car seat AND you get an awesome stroller that will see you through until your child doesn't need a stroller anymore. But wait there's more.... Maclaren strollers are actually space conscious, they compact down like an umbrella stroller and you can fit more stuff in your trunk than just your stroller. I cannot make a higher reccommedation than a Maclaren. I must say the Brits know how to make their prams better than many countries. I LOVE Maclaren strollers. The only caveat about Macalrens are that there is no place to put your coffee (that is one advantage of a Graco) and there is not as much storage space, but it all depends on your use and lifestyle. Best of luck and oh yea, Maclaren rocks.

I got a second-hand snap and go type stroller frame at Once Upon a Child. I got the Combi brand because it not only folds once but twice and has a strap that you can use to carry it on your shoulder. I loved it! It was great for traveling.

And yes, it fits the Graco Snugride carseat.

Any snap and go stroller is used for such a short amount of time that in the end I wouldn't sweat it. I'd go for the cheapest (but well constructed) choice--my assumption then would be the Graco. I have it and it's really great. I have a nice stroller that I use for long walks and errands around the neighborhood. The snap and go is usually in my car and used for shopping trips. Maclaren is a great company, but for a snap-and-go why pay more money than you need to?

I don't think there's much difference between the two frame stroller you mentioned. We chose the Graco stroller frame over the heavier regular stroller because I knew I was having a c-section and I wanted to keep all our baby equipement as light as possible. However, carrying the snugrider carseat with the baby inside became difficult as he grew. Anyway, maybe it would make sense to see which of the two stroller frames is cheaper, lighter and easier to fold with one hand.
Good luck!
Oh, and by the way, we used our stroller frame and Snugride carseat for over a year because our son is on the smaller side and didn't reach 20 lbs until after his 1st birthday.
