I know there are a lot of small business owners on here so I thought you could help me out. I need to open a checking account for my business and am debating which bank to go with? Please tell me....which bank do you use for your business? Do you like it...why and why not. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

We had issues w/Bank of America AND Compass (trying to overload you with fees-- even when plenty of money in accounts!!)

Wells Fargo has been wonderful in all aspects. Even waiving all fees associated with the business accounts!!

Hi K.,

Try Wells Fargo in The Colony at 121/Main. They will answer all your questions and take good care of you. I was a MGR for years at a bank-at Wells Fargo they treat their customers right!

If you have the time-visit several different banks where you would do business. You can ask questions and observe how they treat their customers, wait times, and the general feel of the location. All banks offer the same products-service distinguishes them!!

Good Luck with your new business!

We use Bsnk of America and have had no issues. We do have personal accounts there for about 20 yrs so this was a place that knew us, how we work, etc. They had some sort of sign up for free banking when we signed up and that is what we have.

Good luck

Hi K.,

I've used Viewpoint Bank from the beginning with my Custom Baby business. They used to be Community Credit Union, then a few years back, changed names to Viewpoint.

They have been great and are very convenient with several branches around Plano, Richardson and Allen (those are the ones I use most often).

I've not had any problems setting up my online Merchant Account to go directly into my checking account, so it's been super easy having an online business with this bank. I do not use their merchant account system though, rather one through my web hosting company.

Hope that helps!

K.- I use Bank Of America and they have been great. Also just for your information .... you need to go to the court house and get some kind of Doing Business as... paper filed at the court house and then you can open a business account. the paper is only like 7 dollars to file. I think
Thanks

We had issues with Bank of America and switched to Capital One. They were much better. We have our personal accts at Wamu, and I am sure they would be good for business too. Of course, keep an eye on the news concerning all the bank issues right now.
