Hi I am wondering if anyone has tried Slim quick diet pills. I am looking for a appetite suppressant. I work out four days a week but have hit a plateau and after working out I am so hungry especially in the afternoons. I would like something to curb my hunger and help me lose those last ten lbs! ugh.

What can I do next?

I'd HIGHLY recommend not using a product such as this as it's not been approved by the FDA. A few years ago, there were major issues with both Hydroxy Cut and Xenadrine.

There are only a few products on the market that are FDA-approved for weight loss (though there are a few others that may be prescribed off-label by a physician)
1. Xenical - also called Alli over the counter
It's a fat blocker, so 30% of your ingested fat does not get absorbed by the intestines. It had some news last year regarding liver toxicity issues. Side effects can be managed by watching your fat intake, but if they happen, they're usually quite embarrassing (I used to sell it and hear about it from doctors often)

2. Meridia
It is less commonly used as it has an effect on your cardiovascular system that can be dangerous in some patients.

3. Phenteramine
Part of the infamous fen/phen combo that caused a lot of problems about 10 years ago. Fenformin was pulled off the market - it was the real problem. It's commonly used, but there's little data to show it's worth it long term.

The two recommendations I'd make are to join something like Weigh Watchers (everyone I know who's done it has been wildly successful - including people who only had a few pounds to lose and needed accountability) and to talk to a dietician to see if they can make dietary adjustments that may help you increase your metabolism or help control your hunger in the afternoons without affecting your caloric intake.

Good luck.

I agree, diet pills --- even if they do work they usually aren't something you can do indefinitely and so once you get off of them the weight usually comes back. I think if you are looking to lose the last ten pounds you should make a few adjustments to your diet and maybe rev up your workouts. Are you lifting weights? This can usually help a plateau if you aren't already lifting. Also, cutting out high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oils, and artificial sweeteners might also give you a boost. Also, like was previously suggested joining weight watchers or some online weight-loss community could help too. I am sure they're are about a million different programs online so you can research and pick which one will work for you. Good luck with those last ten pounds, they always seem the hardest to lose.

A friend of mine has lost a lot of weight. Every time she hit a plateau--and get really hungry in the afternoon as you say-she would have a small healthy snack. The extra food helped her get over the hunger and she did lose more. She would also change up her workout and increase or add to interval training. Interval training can really help get over a plateau so if you are not doing any, you should check it out.

You may not be eating enough. Shaklee has a safe weight management program. On it, you lose only fat and not muscle so you avoid the diet yo-yo.
Let me know if you are interested and I will send you some info.
I would be very leary of any diet pills. Those are the snake oil of our day. There is no magic bullet.
I am a personal trainer and would be happy to help you if you choose this program.
