I am working on a slideshow of my 1 yr. old son for his grandparents and I'm struggling to find a really good song to use for it. Any suggestions of a good song for grandparents?

What can I do next?

Hi L.,

Here are a few, "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, "Everything is Beautiful" Ray Stevens,"Bushel and a Peck" from Guys and Dolls by Frank Loesser , "For Baby, for Bobbie" by John Denver, "Top of the World" by the Carpenters. I can probably come up with some more if you let me know what type of music the Grandparents like and their approximate age. Enjoy that little one! -K.

"It's a big world", by renee and jeremy

It goes like...(chorus:)It's a big world baby and you're little for a little while...it's a big world baby you can fiddle in you're own style.
It's a big house, it's a big chair, it's a big zoo it's a big bear, it's a big street, it's a big car, it's a big sky with pretty little stars...
(back to chorus)and so on, but it's a small...so on and so on...
it's a mommy, grandparent, and kid song.
My husband doesn't love it, I think b/c I'll listen to it over and over and get all sentimental and weepy.
(oh, but I do have a 10 day old, so hormones and all....)
I know they have free downloads, b/c it's on my sister's blog and that's how she got it.
Just check it out 8)

try the Jack Johnson curious george soundtrack. Can't think of the songs off the top of my head, but he has a lot of really great songs on it that are kiddie but don't drive adults crazy.

Forever Young by Rod Stewart?
There's a song out there called "The Grandparent's song". I've never heard it, but I've read the lyrics. Sounds good for this type of thing. Here's the website that has the lyrics: http://www.grandparentsmagazine.net/SongLyrics/grandparen...

YES! We did a slideshow for our baby boy and used John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy (darling boy)"
Here are the lyrics:

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monsters gone,
He's on the run and your daddy's here,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both,
Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime,

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,
Darling,
Darling,
Darling Sean.

Good Luck
N.

I like "Wind beneath my wings" - maybe the lion king "circle of life". If you want something specific - they probably won't know it - there is a "Grandparent's Song". It's really cute....here is the link http://www.grandparentsmagazine.net/SongLyrics/grandparen... GOOD LUCK - I am sure it will be treasured by them for a very long time.

Is there anything you could pull out of their backgorunds that woudl have meaning? I'm not sure what ethnicity or culture they are but gearing towards that may be nice. Songs in a language other than english they could understand would be nice. I only say this because when we put together a slideshow last year for my fiance's grandpa we used Italian opera songs he loved. If that is not an option do some research on popular older songs you know they would appreciate and fits. Good Luck!
