what are your opinions on the "sleep nanny" sleeper? It's supposed to be wonderful but it's so expensive so I am hesitant about buying it. Also, you can only use it on the floor and I'm not sure how J feel about that...especially having two dogs. My son doesn't sleep...seriously he doesn't. He has reflux and was told this might help. Share yojr thoughts please. Thank you

What can I do next?

My granddaughter loved her nap nanny. When used correctly it is great. I would not suggest putting a six month old wiggly baby in it. 35 years ago, my kids had a version of the "nap nanny.". The difference In the two was mine had sides that were high. The nap nanny does not. I can see that as a problem if baby not strapped in and is a wiggle worm. If money is an issue put him in car seat. If you plan on other babies it may be worth the investment.

I don't know anything about the sleep nanny, but when my son had reflux problems we took 3 bath towels, rolled them up and put them under the crib mattress at the head of the crib.
We also had a bouncy seat which was a lifesaver. You do have to put it on the floor, but you could just gate the room where the baby is sleeping so the dogs don't bother your son.

I don't know if you would be willing, however, pediatric chiropractic work has been known (proven) to help colic/reflux. We took our son in when he was a wee guy for adjustments with a great pediatric chiropractor in our area and had good results.

I know this wasn't what you specifically asked about, just wanted you to know there was another option out there.

I don't know about the sleep or nap nanny. My granddaughter had trouble sleeping because of reflux and she slept great in her car seat. It kept her posture more upright. We would just buckle her in and cover her with a blanket. Raising the head of her crib didn't help.

I googled nap nanny and found this site that talks about the recall. The company has made modifications to it and it is on the market. http://www.napnanny.com/

I, too, wonder about the need for a recall. My newest granddaughter uses the Bumbo seat and there are no safety issues when used as directed. I suggest that these products can be used safely. I would putit in the crib, tho that may not be how they tell you to use it. You aren't supposed to put the Bumbo on a chair but my granddaughter at 16 mos uses it as a seat on a chair but only when her mother is sitting right next to her. Common sense is the way to go.

But using the car seat is less expensive. smile.

I really wanted a nap nanny but did not want to spend the money. It was invented by a mom. Now all this recall is out and I feel bad for that mom. It really seems like a safe product. I want to assume these people were using it wrong. We can't seem to use anything anymore due to idiots who would try and use a Bumbo as a car seat or equally moronic ideas. LOL

I absolutely loved that thing but I got it on sale so there was a $40 discount. My son had reflux and was most comfortable at an angle, there was much less screaming once I got it, it saved my sanity. He is 19 months now and uses it when he wants to flip through a book or play with my ipad, so it's still working for me.
I should add that many people are putting it in their crib and that is where the deaths have come in. It should only be used on the floor, not up on anything and not anywhere where baby can become trapped, and straps are a good idea. I was worried about stories I heard and saw that mostly it was people using it inappropriately.

The other thing that I used was the rock n play rocker, he slept in that until he was 5 months, again, it's at an angle so babies with reflux are in less pain, and that is off the ground so I kept it next to my bed.

I saw a news article in the past month stating that they were working on doing a recall on that product because several children have died from using it. The company says it was only because it was used wrong that theose babies died. Do some research and think carefullly after you have all the facts. I would be hesitant.

Are you talking about the "nap nanny"? That product should not be available anymore, it has been recalled and I have heard on the news that the CPSC has filed a suit against the manufacturer. A number of babies were killed in it.

Sleep nanny has been recalled and now being sued so I wouldn't advise getting one I never used one or had any reason to buy one what is wrong with the crib for sleep? Our pediatrician had always said we can put our baby in the carseat to give the upright position and placing it in the crib that was baby has a sense that this is where I sleep. The carseat I did a few times with my second oldest due to a cold/ear infection when unable to completly sleep flat on back.Does he not like the swing bouncy chair to sleep in?I seen on Pinterest a no sew fleece floor pillow you might want to look at that and see if you can make one for him but only use it when your in the room with him looks vey comfy
