I am asking this question for myself. I have a beautiful 17 month old daughter, which I am done breastfeeding. I decided to not do anymore hormone birth control. However, my skin is having difficulty deciding what it wants to do. I feel like I am going through puberty again! So I am asking for any advice about good facial cleansers and moisturizers. I can tell you I have oily skin, I am breaking out in with small whiteheads everywhere right now. I was using proactive but I am looking to try something new. Thanks in advance for any help. Have a great day.

It might be a food sensitivity. I am sensitive to Corn & Soy which are in a lot of food & fed to a lot of animals.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Philosophy's Purity for face wash. I've been using it for years. You never need to follow it with a toner, and it makes your skin feel terrific in addition to deep cleaning.

For moisturizer, I use Mario Badescu's Cellufirm. www.mariobadescu.com

If you're having acne issues, I have not found anything better than that line (Badescu). I had horrible skin during my first pregnancy and immediately afterward. Their products were the only ones that worked on me. Proactive was useless.
Check out the site. They have a whole section on acne treatment.

I went through this too. I have an IUD, no help with Acne!

I finally broke down and started using proactive. I love it. It works.

BUT: I will tell you, I think the real trick is using it twice a day everyday. What you end up using will probably work just fine, but you have to be religeous! Even with proactive, I start getting lazy cause my face looks great, then all of a sudden I am 14 again!!!!

Try not to use anything with crushed nuts or anything like that to exfoliate.

I found a wonderful new line of Skin Care that really works!
Go to www.ktlosee.mymangosteen.com and look for GLIMPSE.
It took away some wrinkles by my eyes, the puffiness under my eyes, and some age spots starting on my cheeks. My neck even looks younger...
I love this stuff :)

There are two routes to take here - both work amazing....

1.) go buy the Clairisonic, it is the most amazing invention out there that will clear your skin up in no time, and if you have good skin to begin with, it will only improve it.

2.) If you want just product - forget about proactive, its garbage. We have tried everything on the market, spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars, and finally found the one thing that works. The products at www.acne.org
Daniel Kern has videos on his site and even has the product. My son had extremely bad acne, and in 2-3 months his face has not a blemish on it.

My skin really changed after the birth of my first child too. I used Obagi skin care, which I got through my dermatologist. It's a bit pricey but totally cleared up my skin!

I'm not sure of your age, but at 41 I used the OBAGI products (includes a retinol night cream) and was THRILLED with the results. It is pricey and you need a med spa or dermatologist to get you the Retinol part. Super product, took years off my skin. No kiddin!
