OK,so Im a SAHM , and happy to have the option to be ....but I am going stir crazy alone with an almost 2 yr old and another on the way. There are no other kiddies around for my son to play with and even he is getting bored at home with mommy. I need adult conversation and to feel productive again, outside of my mommy duties. Havent had too many opportunities to meet many people in Savannah yet but very anxious to... Where is a good place to take my son? Ive tried the Oglethorpe Mall playground, and while my son can run around for awhile, after about an hour its still pretty lonely...I need suggestions on places to take my little guy, or places to meet other moms...or good daycare centers for a couple days a week...something to break up the routine. We are hoping to sell our home,as it just isnt conducive to little kids...too many steep steps(no fun when you are pregnant!and when your son wont stay in his crib so he has to sleep with you!)and move to a more kid populated area and a more kid friendly house, but until that miracle happens....Help! Anyone with ideas???

What can I do next?

I belong to a meetup.com playgroup. When I moved to savannah area 3 yrs ago I didnt know a single person and now my kids and I have so much going on I actually have to pick which days I need to just relax at home. The one I belong to is savannah stay at home moms but I think there are a few on there they might not all have playdates in skidaway but you can always offer to host a playdate in your area or your house. we also have playdates for age specific groups like babies toddlers and pre schoolers. There are also groups called MOPS that is mothers of preschoolers these are held usually at different churches around the area I know 1 that is savannah christian churches East Campus is down near skidaway island Im not sure when they meet but you could probably google it (MOPS) hope this helps.

Hi E.. First, congratulations on your growing family. I have a couple of suggestions for you. I attend a monthly discussion group called HUGS (Help Us Grow Safely). The location is Candler Hospital and the next discussion is March 26th at 10am. We meet other moms, trade information, and get a book related to the discusison topic. I enjoy the meeting. Light refreshments are served, and all family members are welcomed. For more info, call ###-###-####.

Also, I have been told of a group called MOPS. Don't know much about it but I hear it is wonderful.

You can also check with your local library. They may have story time- or something like that, which can be a fun activity.

I hope this helps, and good luck with your family.

I have an informal playgroup that gets together usually once or twice a week. It is just a group of ladies most of us go to church together. Most of our little ones are 3 years old or infants. You are more than welcome to join us. We are meeting this morning around 10. Let me know if you are interested. This morning it will just be me and one other friend. We are going to let our girls ride their bikes.

It is defiantly no fun to not know anybody. Every mom needs some adult conversation. I was in the same situation when we moved here. MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) have been wonderful for me. There are quite a few that meet in the area. I attend the one that meets at Savannah Christian Church's main campus. Actually, we are meeting this Tuesday. They are all a little different, but they all would allow you to meet other moms. In fact, if you can attend even more that one if you want. If you want a little more info I would be happy to share. Feel free to email ____@____.com. I wish you well.
