Sippy Cups - Floral Park,NY

This may be a silly question but almost everytime I pack a sippy cup (unless it's one of those throw-away ones) it leaks. Am I doing something wrong reinserting that little piece to the cup? I forget what you call it, it's the piece that attaches underneath the lid. I have an Avent sippy cup and another kind (no specific name) and they always leak! Please recommend a leak-proof (goof-proof!) sippy cup! Thank you!

What can I do next?

I love my sons Born Free Sippies. There are a few parts to it but they really are great.

I think the Playtex cups are the best for not leaking. I had some Avent ones too, but never use them anymore because of the leak problems. Both the sippy and the straw cups from Playtex work well for us.

Sippy cups leak for me, too. If you have the vent piece installed, it still leaks when packed.
Nuby has sippy cups that come with a lid. However, when you go to take the lid off, there will be liquid in it, so you still have to be careful. At least it won't leak into your bag.
I've tried a straw cup with a piece that slides over and bends the straw. I've never had that one leak because you can close it.
Look for sippys that have some sort of lid or closure for when you put it in a bag/cooler, etc.

You'll probably have to purchase many until you find one that your child likes, can use well, and doesn't leak.

We've always done well with Platex, Munchkin, and Nalgene (usually in the camping section). Nalgene's are the most expensive, but we've NEVER had an issue with leaking unless we forgot to put the valve in.

We use Gerber sippy cups and have never had a problem with leaking. We used the ones with the rubber tip & handles when first starting out and then moved to the Gerber sip & smile. No leaking ever for us.

I use Born Free, Nuby with the spout & Nuby with the straw... Born free doesnt necessarily leak, but when I open the cap I have to be careful, because sometimes the liquid will come out of the spout, into the lid. The nuby has less of that problem... something about the airflow in it. The straw ones never leak....

Gerber is a good one for not leaking, second is Playtex. I never liked the Avent!
