Have you tried applying for patient assistance? You can go to pparx.org or go to gsk.com and see what you can find.

We use the Astelin nose spray. I email my refills and it is $30 for 3 months worth. Granted, I have not done this since late 08 so I do not know if any rules have changed.

I do know that there are some Rx that insurance wont cover due to a generic type.

As for us, we will not take generic. However, Zyrtec is OTC and it is a great remedy as well.

Good luck.

I have taken Singulair for many, many years and IDK if your sons allergies or asthma is really bad but I have found that Singulair works the best for my Asthma. Maybe you have a deductible you have to meet before they start covering scripts or any other procedure. I would look at your policy. If it is just allergies he is taking it for Zyrtec works good but I switch back and forth with Claritin because I become immune to those really quick. Good Luck!!!!

We pay I think it's 32.00 with insurance for Singular from the Walgreens pharmacy. Our insurance plan may just pay more than yours but there is no generic for Singualr and it works really good for our 4 1/2 yr old daughter.

H.,
I had the same problem and Singulair was all that worked for him! I pursued assistance from drug companies!!! Start first with Prescription Assistance then go from there. I honestly can not remember which specific place I went to - let me know and if you have problems! We actually qualified for assistance - FREE for a year!!!!
Good Luck!!!

I would think you have a deductible to reach before it will be lower. I recommend the 90 day prescription mail order and it should be a little cheaper. Call your insurance and see what the deductible is so you know how soon it will be before the cost is less.

I cannot imagine why it is so high. We were on it for a while, but eventually it quit working for my 3 yr old. We then went to Zyrtec, which is now over the counter. We are currently on Xyzol, which is 25.00 on our insurance. Surely there is something else they can try that will work just as well and be cheaper!
