Single Stroller Opinions

Wondering if I can get some true-tested mama reviews on single strollers. We are looking to buy a new one because we are not crazy about the inherited Graco we have. It is for my 7 month old daughter. Her brother and sister are 7 and 8 and she is our last baby so there is no need for a double or Joovy-style (toddler-step in the back). I am ready to buy the Bumbleride Flyer for its generous sun canopy and ability to have the baby facing in either direction...but I wanted to ask if anyone has any experiences or opinions on what is your favorite stroller and why. Any input would be great! Thanks.

MCLAREN!! Any stroller they make !!! We went through the Graco, Peg Perego and are now using the McLaren Quest. It's the umbrella style, but not flimsy and chinsy like umbrella strollers of the past. It turns on a dime and the handles are higher up so my tall husband doesn't have to hunch over. It is lightweight and folds up small so it fits right through security at the airport. The ONLY drawback is that the basket is on the small side, but I don't even care because this stroller is so agile and easy to drive. Good luck!!

We have a peg perego p3. I bought a floor model from The Baby Room that they were selling because the next years model was coming out :) Got about $100 off and it was still in new condition. It isn't to heavy, folds up easily, extendable handles, and I can stear it with one hand if I need to. I can't think of any negatives except it is a little expensive.

My neighbor has the Peg Perego Venician(I don't think they still make that model, can't find on their site). However, there is a new one called PLIKO SWITCH COMPLETO that appears to do the same thing, and very light weight. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Peg Prego strollers. Check out their site. The only downfall is that these strollers are usually in the $300+ range.

MACLAREN, MACLAREN, MACLAREN. I've had two of them (a single and a double) and absolutley loved them both. They hold up to 55Ibs, are so comfortable for baby and for whoever is pushing it. They are lightweight and compact yet so sturdy, strong and durable. My single stroller fell out of the back of my Jeep whilst my husband was driving, the only defect that happened from that incident was a "wonky" wheel which is still going strong three years later even though I chose not to replace it. They are easy to push and to fold and open. I would recommend any maclaren stroller, they are the rolls royce of strollers. They all come with a canopy and storage basket, and some come with a raincover which I found great in the winter to keep the cold air of my little ones faces.

We have a brand new baby (three weeks old) and LOVE the Pliko P3 by Peg Perego. It's lightweight, easy to fold and set up. It even has an adaptor to accommodate our Key Fit infant car seat if we want to just pop that in and out, rather than wake the baby to move her.
I would highly recommend the Pliko (wait for a coupon fromm BRU!)

We just bought a Peg Perego Centro from TJ Maxx for $120. It originally sold for $300, but it's the '06 or '07 model, hence the price reduction. We also saw it online for that price. It was a solid value and has a good sized canopy (momma hates too much sun:)), you can place the baby in either direction, it comes with a zip-on rain hood, and a "boot" that covers your baby's legs when it's cold (much nicer than using a blanket that slips off). The color is "toffee," very pleasing to the eye. It's slightly lighter weight than our old Graco. I'm just getting used to opening and closing it. So far, I need two hands to get it started, but I think I can get it down to one. It rolls quite well, has shock absorbers according to hubby, feels just a wee bit loosy goosey when you push it, but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make for all of the great other things (also a generous basket that pushes up and hides your purchases). Good luck!

Maclaren!!! We just bought the Triumph for my 2 1/2 year old. The Graco we had was big and bulky and she had outgrown it... not to mention it was hard to push around and took up half of the storage in my Jeep Commander. The Triumph is able to recline, the handles were higher and you can steer and push with one hand (even with a 32 lb kid in it!) We liked this because it has the 5 point harness for a little one 3 months and up, but will hold up to a 55 lb child. I can fold/unfold it with one hand and takes up as much room as an umbrella stroller. The storage basket is a little small. It also doesn't come with a cup holder, but Maclaren has a great storage unit on the website, or you can buy the attachable cup holders that Babies R Us has to clamp onto the side of the stroller, both work well.
