I just read an article about the top 10 myths on how to tell the gender of your unborn baby. One of them was: If you DON'T have morning sickness during your first trimester, it's a boy. I have never even heard of this, but it my case it was absolutely true! Just wondering for everyone else? :)

What can I do next?

Both of my boys I had horrible morning sickness/nausea until about 17 weeks! So I guess its not so true for me :) My girlfriend with 3 boys she had it throughout her entire pregnancy--so I'm grateful mine at least came to an end eventually. Lucky for you :)

I know that EVERYONE told me I was having a boy, because of the way I was carrying, because of the things I was craving (I guess sweet=girl, salty=boy...), every old wives tale said that I was having a boy... but I wound up with the worlds most beautiful little girl. :)

~Although... Shane B's thing rings true. I never heard of it, but I had HORRIBLE heartburn (and I have never had heartburn before or since my pregnancy...) and my DD was born with a TON of hair... it was super thick, and like 3 inches long. lol.

I had the WORST morning sickness when I was pregnant with my son. I couldn't keep anything down and was horribly sick. Vs my girls I was nauseas but rarely vomited.

So false in my case.

A friend just had a baby last week and had an US saying she was having a boy. Her mother/family had for generations done the string over the belly button test and apparently was always right. So the mother refused to believe it was a boy b/c the string test said it was a girl and went out and bought everything pink. Sure enough, last week, a little boy was born. :)

It was just the opposite with me. With my daughter, easiest pregnancy ever, no sickness, etc. I'm pregnant with a boy right now, had the WORST sickness of my life my first trimester. Go figure!

No morning sickness ever and I have 2 boys and one girl. My mom never had morning sickness with her 4 either, so maybe it's a genetic thing?

My theory, based on absolutely nothing scientific whatsoever, is that your kid eats the way you ate when prego. I ate the healthiest during my first pregnancy and that kid loves vegetables and willingly makes healthy food choices. I had a raging sweet tooth with my second and now he does too. And my third...well, let's just say I tried to eat well but usually ended up grabbing whatever was easiest on my way out the door. Can I use that to explain why he's the worst eater of the three? Does my crackpot theory ring true with anyone else?

I didn't have morning sickness with either of my boys. Although, during my first pregnancy I did have heartburn that could have leveled a 500 pound linebacker. Second wasn't as bad as the first, but still could have taken out most of the ATL falcons without a second thought.

My mom told me that if you have a lot of heartburn, your baby will have a lot of hair.
That proved to be true in both cases, a girl and a boy.
I heard if you carry high or low in your belly it makes a difference.
I also heard if you fill out more in your butt that it's a boy.
I had morning sickness more with my daughter, but I didn't escape it with my son.
He was actually by far the more difficult pregnancy. And birth.
Yet, he is the far mellower child.
I know two young women, one being my daughter, that had relentless morning sickness and they both have boys.
Wives tales are fun, but I don't place a lot of faith in them.

Morning sickness started around week 5 w/ my DD and week 8 w/ my DS.
Pretty sure it was way worse w/ my DS-hit me like a ton of bricks in the grocery store one night. :(
I think I knew I was having a boy just because it was so different than the first go round. ;)

I have one of each. Both pregnancies were the same, the belly shapes were the same, gain weight was the same. The only thing ihave recognized from the journal and pre go books was the heartbeat, the higher was for the boy and the lower was for the girl :) no heartburn at all and both babies have lots of hair.

Some people say you get the opposite of what you want. Morning sickness is actually a good sign less than 1% chances of miscarriage. Heartburn is a result of digesting fast food or any unhealhy meals.

I have four wonderful children and had varying morning sickness with each. I have 2 boys and 2 girls. So, it was worse with the first 2. A boy, then a girl and much milder with the last 2, a boy and a girl. Those gender prediction things are fun, but usually there is not any validity too them!

I was sick as hell with all of them. Girl, boy, girl. I think I was the sickest with my boy. Squash that theory.

I did carry the girls low though, with my son he was so high I couldnt breathe!

My 1st was a boy & I was sick till the 7th month vlomiting couldn't eat wanted nothing to due with food,my 2nd girl I did have the queasy stomach only puked after eating nectarines & yes I still ate them,my 3rd girl only threw up twice had the queasy stomach with my girls everything I drank or ate was nasty tasting.I craved candy, fruits, veggies,& whatever else I could stand to eat I also had headaches horribloe acne & well shaving if I wanted the smooth legs then I better shave monring & night it grew thick & fast with the girls. Now on my 4th pregnancy I have the same symptoms as I did when I was pregnant with my girls but won't the sex for a while only 11 weeks in,but very curious if my instincts tell me i'm right. The way I carried all my kids was different my son was big round high, girls not as big round & low.
Have you heard about the chinese gender predictor it was correct with my girls didn't know about it with my son,it says that i'm having a girl this time too.Oh well it's all in fun...

I didnt suffer from morning sickness with my first and it was a GIRL. I am currently 17 weeks with number 2 and thankfully its pretty much gone but I had wicked morning sickness with this baby. I dont know the gender yet but should find out soon (I think its a boy though)

I had also heard the weird myth that if you are having a girl you will most likely break out with zits and that your hair will go all thin dull and yucky and I had the complete opposite with my daughter. My skin was phenominal when I was pregnant with her and this time around I look like Im a fourteen your old going thru puberty. My face is a disaster and I find my hair isnt anywhere near as think and shiny as it was with my daughter

Oh no -I was SO sick throughout both of my pregnancies -and both were boys. I thought I was going to die during both first trimesters!

One thing I heard and didn't mind hearing from a clerk at a store one time -she said, "You must be having a boy!" And I looked at her and said, "Why yes, I am." She then went on to tell me that when a woman carried boys she looked fantastic, but girls not so much because boys take care of their mothers. I told her she was very kind, but I hadn't found that to be true! I felt like I looked pretty God-awful during both of my pregnancies (and have photos to prove it) -and I know several women who had girls who truly did look really, enviously wonderful while pregnant!

I had real bad morning sickness with my son.You were just lucky.:)
When I was expecting my son , I wanted to find out gender by myself before the 5th month check up.I googled and found this chinese calendar for gender prediction. If I remember correctly , it was based on the mom's age and month baby was conceived or something like that. Mine came as a boy and it was true. I went ahead and tried that with every woman I know the birth year and their kids birth month/year(minus 9 months for conception month). It came true for everyone I tried.
