I had a pretty easy pregnancy with my first child but it was seven years ago. This one has not been so easy. I am 36 weeks right now and tonight I am very sick to my stomach....uncomfortable...can't lay down, don't feel good sitting up. Is this normal?

Dear L.,

My first pregnancy was easy, too. However, during my last two I had morning sickness for five months and six months, respectively. I found that Gatorade and saltines did help. I just wanted to let you know that my girls are happy and healthy and my last trimester with both was wonderful.

Best Wishes & God Bless,
L.

Sometimes the increasing hormones at the end of pregnancy can cause you to feel that "morning sickness" feeling again. If the baby has not dropped yet, maybe your stomach is getting squished and you should eat small but frequent snacks/meals throughout the whole day (keep something by your bedside, as well). Maybe your body or your baby is telling you that they need something: how is your water, protein, salt intake?

I have been "full term" 5 times, and I would say that is not normal. I am not a doctor though. Have you questioned your OB, had ultrasound? I don't want to frighten you, but I had a baby born still at 34 weeks, but I had no symptoms of yours. My doctor blew off my requests, and I regret it. God gave us intuition for a reason. Use it. best of luck to you. I would REALLY love to know what happens.

I was miserable the last week of my pregnancy with my 2nd child. It could mean you are nearing the end, but it is best to call your OB and make sure everything it okay. That is what they are there for. Good luck.

I would ask your dr. Sometimes that is a meaning that you are close to delivering. Good luck!!!
