Shower Game Using Gift Wrap Paper?

not exactly what you are looking for but baby showes would be the best shower for using alternatives to gift wrap.

am i assuming right about baby shower and not a bridal shower??

you can use a baby bathtub to hold tub gifts and top with a towel to unwrap stuff.

you can wrap an outfit in a recieving blanket,

you could give a pretty basket filled with board books.

you can fill a small laundry basket with outfits and detergent and not even tneed to wrap it.

If she just doesn't want you to waste toilet paper wrapping her in a tp wedding gown that should be easy enough to drop and find a different game,

like name that tune or something and the players shout out answers instead of writing stuff down.

just another thought in my part of the country we eat play games and then watch her open gifts or play as she is opening, After the gifts are done we are done, to stick around to play with the wrapping paper seems a little strange to me. in the time progression. of the party.

Depending on the size of the gifts, if the paper isn't torn, you can use the paper to line the drawers in the baby's dresser.

Also, you can have an array of hanging photo frames in different shapes and sizes, one for each person in attendance. The dollar store and Target actually have some pretty decent ones.
Anyway, you can use the leftover gift wrap to put in the photo frames. Have a very fine point Sharpie so each person can sign and date an area on their individual gift wrap before placing in the frames. Then, Mommy can hang them in the nursery in a group as wall art. Not only that, but as her photo collection of the baby grows, she will have plenty of frames and she can keep the signed gift wrap in the frames as momentos.

It's a bit crafty, but super simple. All you need is the frames, something to trace the shape of the frames onto the gift wrap, scissors, some Sharpies....

Keep in mind that gift wrap is recyclable. Whatever doesn't get used can be taken to the recycler and used for other green paper products.

I have used scraps of material to wrap gifts. It can be used over and over again.

But to answer your question. Instead of a game why not provide a cute box and gently fold any paper that might be able to be used. Any ribbons and this paper can be saved for your friend to reuse.

Have recycling bins in convenient locations.

But... to answer your question, you could use the gift wrap to make thank you notes. Think "contact paper". Select particularly pretty paper and use spray glue to adhere it to cardstock.

Another thing I have seen that was really cute- have folks arrive 30 minutes before the mom-to-be with unwrapped gifts. Then, use baby blankets, burp cloths and onesies to "wrap" the gifts. At the shower I attended, the hostesses provided the "wrapping". It was cute. We "taped" things together with diaper pins.

At my sister's shower, we had guests decorate a plain white onesie for my nephew to wear at each "monthly" milestone, plus major holidays. The artist signed the tushy and we hung them around on twine as decoration during the shower. Super cute, useful and eco-friendly (I think)!

I don't know about games, but I wrap gifts in Sunday comics. Not so much for Eco purposes, although I suppose that's a nice result, but mostly because I hate to spend money on wrapping paper. It's become my signature at any event that includes a gift.

You can always just use the back side of the paper for the guests to write answers to the games. For example, the game where people have to remember what is on the tray full of baby items, instead of writing on a piece of prenumbered paper, guests can just write their answers on the back of the gift wrap. Also, Gift wrap can definitely be recycled, so even if you can't find an appropriate second use, the paper can go in the recycling bin!

I would just make sure there were receptacles at the party and have the guests put their trash in the right one then go take them to the recycling center.

What about asking everyone to reuse a gift bag they've received? From any gift occasion - should get you some wacky birthday, anniversary, Christmas, and assorted fun occasion bags, and she can reuse them again. It's not a game, but it could be fun and involve less waste.

I usually tend to put gifts in a basket that can be used again and hold together by tying with curling ribbon, in this case I would use cloth ribbon that could be reused. The receiptent still needs to unwrap it to see what's inside.

Maybe you could ask guests to bring the gifts in reusable bags? They sell them at Babies R Us and most other stores, too - often far cheaper than a roll of wrapping paper or another decorative bag :)
