Should I Worry???

i am 9 weeks pregnant and I have recently switched insurances. Before I switched I was able to date my pregnancy with ultrasound and was able to measure the baby's size and heart rate. That was 2 weeks ago. Now with my new insurance the closest prenatal appointment I can get is 3 weeks away. I haven't had any 1st trimester blood tests or any other 1st trimester test that I had with my daughter. Should I worry and demand a sooner appoinment?? Because by the time my appointment comes around I will be in the beginning of my second trimester and a lot can happen during that time!!!!

What can I do next?

I wouldn't worry too much unless you are a high-risk pregnancy. If you are, then demand a sooner appointment, if not, I think you should be okay with the later one.

Good luck!!!

I personally would not worry. Unless you are considered high risk. I saw my doctor at 6 weeks but I was considered high risk. My sister didnt see her doctor till she was 12 weeks i believe. If you have any questions you can called you doctor and if she/he believes that there is concern they will see you.

NO!! I've been through whole pregnancy using no doctor!!
God makes the baby, so all is fine! He does nothing imperfect.
Peace be to you!!

I would call your doctor and discuss it with them. If I remember correctly, they wouldn't see me until I had already been pregnant for 2 mths which is not that far off from 2nd trimester. You definitely want to get on prenatal vitamins - even if over-the-counter. Past that, I would just call the doctor to discuss ramifications of not going in during the 1st trimester.

My ob does not see patients until week 12 at all. I was supposed to go in for blood work to confirm (which i did at the hospital where i work instead), then i met with the nurse only for a consultation at 8 weeks (no exam, weight or anything), maybe some blood work and discussed prenatal tests. I saw the doctor at 12 weeks. my daughter is perfectly healthy. My co-worker also was told not to schedule until week 12 by 3 different doctors. unless it is a high risk pregnancy for some reason I would not worry. But definietly call if you have questions on diet, exercise or anything else.

I never saw a doctor until I was 11 weeks pregnant, I think you'll be fine! I know it isn't easy, but just take care of yourself and don't stress :)

I think it would depend on what you want. If you want to do a nuchal fold screen which is usually done at 12w then I would call about an earlier appt. (Perosnally I wanted the NT scan so I would have pushed for an earlier appt) If you aren't interested in screening then I think you would be fine to wait. Do they have a nurse who will at least answer questions before you are seen?
