HI I HAVE 2 1/2 YEAR OLD. AND I CAN'T DECEIDE WHEN TO START MY DAUGHTER IN PRE SCHOOL. I WILL BE HAVING ANOTHER CHILD IN JULY. I FEEL 3 IS SO YOUNG TO BE WITHOUT ME. I DON'T WANT HER TO BE BEHIND SOCIALLY EITHER. ALSO IF ANYONE COULD GIVE ME SOME SUGGESTIONS ON A GOOD PRESCHOOL,(NON RELIGIOUS) THAT WOULD BE GREAT. I LIVE ON THE BORDER OF MIDDLESEX AND MONMOUTH COUNTY, NEW JERSEY (OLD BRIDGE).THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.

What can I do next?

My son started peschool this year at 2.5 and loves it! He goes 3 mornings a week from 9-12. Last year I had him in a "class" at the YMCA that was twice a week for an hour and he loved that as well.

Hi! I have a 4 year old who has been in school since he is 2. I had reservations about it as well but we had no choice. He had to go in full time. Gues what....He loved it. Even when he was two, and still to this day, there are times when I pick him up that he doesn't want to leave. I think this day in age, it's important to get the kids used to being away from their parents. Most children are in preschool so by the time Kindergarden comes, they are past the crying stage and ready to learn. It doesn't make it any easier on us though. Why don't you try 1 or two days a week? I too live in Old Bridge. I send my son to Kidscount Child Care Center. The phone number is ###-###-####. We really love it. You should give it a try. Good luck! Just remember....it's easier for the children to adjust then it is for us!

Hello! Have you thought about letting your daughter go to daycare part time? That way, she gets socialization and becomes familiar with a school-like routine. I live in Keyport, and am not from here, but there is a veritable plethera of daycares that are nonreligious that you can choose from. Some are in strip malls (I don't like it because they never have grass for the kids to run around on). Some are individually owned with great lawns. Some have programs that your child can participate in after school when they get a little older and kindergarten ends early. I hope this helps.
