Shoes - Garland,TX

Nordstrom is known for having a great shoe department with a variety of widths. My mom often shops there for 9 double narrows. Not necessarily cheap, but they have good sales every so often.

Check The Rack (Preston and Park)-- I've seen lots of Nordstrom shoes there in W over the years.

I too am blessed with a super-wide foot along with a high instep. The only place that I have been able to find a wide enough shoe with some style is at Easy Spirit and Naturalizer. Both of these shops are located at Allen Premium Outlets as well as some of the area malls. It helps to shop early in the season at Allen Premium Outlets, especially for the smaller sizes. I am a six, too. And I usually get a 6.5 (or 7) for the same issue. We are not alone -- I have heard the same from a number of people. I think they make them narrower as you get smaller -- not good. Anyways, if you are tired of going up a couple of sizes, my mom has success at Nordstroms with W sizes. Also, Taryn Rose is supposed to be great. Good luck!

Birkenstocks or Earth shoes are great--anything that allows for space--
You can get these at Heart and Sole at Inwood/Tollway? area I think and Whole Earth Provisions on Mockingbird & 75. Both brands are expensive but totally worth it and last a long time!

For shoes that I wear often I go to Nordstrom, for the quality and the price isn't bad. For the more tready shoes that may only last a season and I don't wear often, I go to Payless. They have a great selection of wide shoes. I got my wedding shoes at Payless and had no problem wearing them for over 12 hours.

I was at Neiman Marcus the other day and saw several sizes in W. They did have some cute shoes.

Have you tried Nordstrom's? They usually have a great selection and you can find some moderately priced there.

I'm a believer in finding a quality product and sticking with it! Lately my favorites have been Merrill and Born for daily wear and then Ginni Binni for the dress up. Heels KILL me but I love them and will wear them about once a week.

Finding wide shoes in any store is a pain. Stores like Nordstrom do carry wides, but they don't carry nearly as many wides in the store as they used to. They are always willing to order them for you for a $3 delivery fee. How nice of them, when you can get them delivered for free when they do their free shipping events!

The Rack (Nordstrom's outlet) does carry some wides. However, it is even more hit or miss than Nordstrom.

Department stores like Dillard's will occassionally have shoes in wide. You just have to have a good salesperson who can tell you what they have in wide or is willing to look around in the store room.

You should have some amount of success at DSW. They do carry wides in a number of shoes. They tend to have wides in the smaller sizes like 6s and 7s. I wear a 10W, so I don't have much luck at DSW.

I do a lot of ordering online. It is not fun, but I can find a better selection online than I can in stores. I usually wait for the free shipping events or shop with places that have free shipping all of the time. I buy more shoes than I plan to keep, just so I find at least one or two pair that work.

My feet are so wide and I struggle to find shoes that feet so much that I went to a podiatrist to see if there was something wrong. He said no you just have good solid feet, but he told me Birkenstocks were the best. They can be expensive and I couldn't afford them so I bit the bullet and bought one pair, when it got too cold for sandals I had saved up enough to by a pair of closed toed shoes. Over a couple years I've spent about $300 each year on shoes and my original pair from 8 years ago are going strong. They've really got some cute shoes now they don't all look alike anymore. Once you know your size you can find them cheap on ebay and Shoe Pavillion.
