My daughter just turned 11 months last week and has mastered walking. She does not have shoes at the moment but I would like to buy her some. Where is the best place to go to buy shoes that are good for them but are inexpensive at the same time. I can't see spending a lot of money on shoes when they are in them for so little time. Any advise would be great! Thanks.

I did go to Stride Rite as well. But when I am able to make the trip, there is a great store called Gotskind's in Naperville. The staff there is very knowledgable about children's shoes and what is the best support for their feet. So if you are ever out that way, check them out! They are on Jefferson Street right in the heart of the downtown area.

Robeez are great for beginner walkers and if you don't want to pay the Robeez price you can get the knock-offs at Target or Babies R Us. My daughter is 2 1/2 and still loves her Robeez that are too small and she still insists on wearing them....
I agree. Stride Rite is the way to go at this age. They will properly fit the shoe. They put their shoes on sale periodically. You may want to check their website and see if there are any promos right now.

I have two sons (3 and 1) and their first pair of shoes have come from Stride Rite. Their staff is helpful and the shoes are well made and flexible. You want their feet to be protected, yet still able to flex. It's important since their little feet are still developing.
Yea, they are a bit pricey ($40 a pair), but I've always been happy with them. After about age two, I open up to other brands.
Good luck and congrats on the walking at 11 months. My boys seem to hit that milestone a bit later (15 months and still waiting at 13 months!) Lol.
