Practice yoga and deep breathing with him. It will be a time for you to be together and it is a great anxiety reliver. There are some basic breaths you can do as well as some basic postures. If you need any specifics let me know.

I would set up an appointment with the doctor that I use. Her name is Rebecca Lord, ###-###-####. She is in Safety Harbor, and she utilizes different modalities depending on the situation. Her approach is natural and she is able to identify the root of a problem quickly and treat it that way. Anyway, I love her and everyone I send to her raves about her.

Good Luck!

There is one called Bach's Flower Remedy. You put four drops in a glass of water, juice, etc. It has been around forever. You can find it at any health food store. It is in a glass bottle but comes in a yellow box. Lots of people who are afraid to fly use it.

I use it for my dog! He has epilepsy and gets very confused/upset after a seizure.

I have a logical suggestion for you. I'm amazed that none of your advice givers so far even mentioned it. If he's on medication, the first person you should talk to is his doctor. There is such thing as getting used to meds. He could need a slightly adjusted dosage or a new med altogether.

My son's doctor has told me that medication alone doesn't completely help a problem, so if you can also have yours recommend a child psychologist to you that specializes in Anxiety disorders, that may help him to learn to help himself through his anxieties.

But, we also have some natural supplements around here, and I highly recommend MindSoothe Jr. and Pure Calm by Native Remedies. I use the Pure Calm now and then myself. You can google the website or even buy the products from sellers on Ebay for much cheaper.

No bananas, no red food dye, a shot of black coffee will help him to relax. Go to the library and check out books on food allergy. Exercise and deep breathing exercise.

Hi P.,
It is not possible to tell what is causing this separation anxiety by reading your post.
The Bach's Rescue Remedy is a good suggestion. It will help w/ traumatic fears and anxiety. Pegasus Flower Essences makes a good one. It is formula 22 and it has to do with feelings of abandonment.
If his problem is more one of fear than separation then Mimlus of Bach would be good and really might help even if it is seperation anxiety.
