I found a mousse tanner with a bronzer so I can see where I put it. It is called St. Tropez and I got it from my hair salon. I bought it because my stylist looked like she had just got back from the tropics and she wasn't orange or streaked. I always have both of those problems with self tanners. I bought it and I love it! I keep an extra bottle on hand in case i run out mid way.

The Body Shop, as well as other higher end cosmetic stores sell a "body mitt" that is used to put on self tanners. The trick is to apply the tanner directly to the mitt and rub it it evenly. It really works. I know they sell them online if no store is near you.

3 steps to great looking legs!

Step 1 – Dissolve: Use the Leg Appeal products to get the most flawless sunless tan you have ever had. This 3 step system will ensure that your legs look amazing during these months that we dare to bare. At night, before going to bed, use the Leg Peel. Apply to the skin and leave on all night. The enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids will loosen the dead skin to not only smooth the skin but get rid of any dead skin buildup that will interfere with the perfect sunless tan.

Step 2 – Scrub: Use the Leg Apeel Leg Scrub to remove yesterday’s skin and reveal that sexy Summer skin that lies underneath. While you are at it, use the Microdermabrasion Body Buffing Cream to aggressively remove the dead skin on the rest of your body.

Step 3 – Tan: Apply a sunless tanning product. For the darkest tan, apply Leg Apeel sunless tanning lotion. This is not only for use on the legs, you can use it anywhere on the body. If you prefer a more gradual tan, you can use the Triple Glow gradual tanning lotion. To get the best application without streaking, I always recommend applying to the skin, then smoothing over with a body lotion to ensure that you have gotten a very even distribution of color. Remember, the active ingredients in sunless tanning products react to dead skin, so steps 1 and 2 are very important in ensuring that you have don’t have areas of compacted skin that can lead to an unnatural color application.

I use the Jergens natural glow express. I am not sure what type of Jergens product you used bc they have several. They make a lotion that will tan you gradually over a week or 2 that works well, but takes time. I was using that and then I found the Jergens express. It works in 3 days time and I had lots of compliments on how tan I was. I use it just like a lotion. I don't overuse on my elbows, ankles, and knees and I don't get dressed for about 10 mins. after until it dries. I wash my hands well after I am done and make sure there is no lotion left under my nails either. It really isn't tough at all and I have never had a streak or patch or anything and I dont exfoliate with it either. Keep in mind that this is not your instant self tanner which makes it nice becuase you can't screw up like you could with an instant self tanner. I do notice a difference after I use it twice and so did everyone else.

I use Loreal Sublime Instant Tanning lotion. I love it and have been using it for a couple years. You can mix it with regular lotion and it seems to not streak. I put it on and make sure I am covered and then I swirl my hands around my legs to even out any chance of streaking. It seems to work great for me. Best of luck...it does take some practice.

sublime bronze all the way!!!! by far the best stuff i've found. or banana boat build a tan. they both are awesome and get you dark fast.

I haven't used any recently, but I did not find a big difference between cheap ones and expensive ones. The difference was in the prep work which is sounds like you already do.

As long as you don;t have really sensitive skins, make sure your exfoliating consists of both a scrub and a scrubbing cloth/puff.

Then, try to stay away from any moisturizers prior to "tanning". I would use surgical gloves to apply the stuff. And, contrary to the recommendations, I would rub it in as best I could. Then while your skin is still tacky, pass over your skin gently rubiing in in order to blend all areas as best as possible.

It's really a big pain in the butt that I only reserve for special occasions. But if you have the will and the time, I always had flawless results doing it this way.

Hi A.. I use the Jergens Express glow self tanning lotion. Be sure you are bathing and exfoliating well before use, paying special attention to knees, ankles, elbow (the extra dry and rough areas). When applying, I always mix the self tanner with my regular moisturizer, it makes it easier to apply and helps it go further. Always run your hands over those rough places last, with whatever is still on your hands. And don't forget to wash your hands well right after using! Good luck, hope this helps!

I use a sunless tanner from Nicole Miller- its amazing! Completely all natural and safe to use. There are never any streaks and it doesnt have that "smell" that some do!!

I have been using Oil of Olay's gradual tanner, I can't remember the name exactly but it's the one that is a moisturizer with a little bit of tanner in it. After a few days of application you get some nice, subtle color. I have also used the Jergen's version and found it to be a bit more unpredictable. Anyway, I use the Oil of Olay light color, they make two, dark and light. Once you decide if you like it then maybe try the darker color. I have also found this to be pretty fool proof around the hands, face and feet, most others are a disaster on those areas. If you want color quicker than a few days, try applying in the morning and at night, this will get color a bit faster. Good Luck!
