Seeking Travel Stroller Recommendations

I'm traveling to Canada in 2 weeks with my 6-month old and am looking for travel stroller recommendations. This is our first airplane trip. I'd like something lightweight and easy to fold. My daughter is 18.5 lbs and 25". Many of the strollers I have seen are for larger babies. Would also welcome any other travel advice you have to offer!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

thank you! I followed up on all the advice here. Saw the $20 stroller at Babies R Us, checked on the web sites, etc. I ended up getting a stroller I happened to find on CraigsList - a German stroller by ABC Design called the Takeoff. It folds smaller than a carry-on suitcase and is really well made. It's not sold here in the USA (closest knock-off is the Cielo by Mia Moda), and it was sheer happenstance I discovered it. For anyone interested, it's sold through eBay stores only. Here's a link to their site:

I'm leaving next weekend - thank you so much for your time in responding!

Ok, now I'm back and wanted to update you on how that stroller performed. Basically, it was a joy to wheel around the cities where we stayed, and took up no space in the car while on our road trip. Even though it has a fancy fold and German engineering, I found it a pain to fold up and often got my fingers caught in the process. And in the airport, it had to be folded up several times when going though security, at the gate, etc. Strollers get checked at the gate so it wasn't important that it folded small for the plane ride. In hindsight an umbrella stroller may have been easier, but also may not have survived the wear and tear of the trip. A friend got a Maclaren Quest for her Italy trip and was very pleased with it.

The Inglesina Trip is a great stroller. The back goes down to an almost flat position which is great for younger babies. It is lightweight and easy to use. I have used this with my son since about 5 months old.

They have some great options in the One Step Ahead catalog (or you can go online as well).

Most lightweight strollers work for babies 6 months+. Maclaren
and Combi are compact, if you're taking an infant car seat maclaren stroller frame is great. Have you thought about carrier,so you do not have to deal with strollers????

Hi L.-
You should go to the website www.onestepahead.com. They have alot of products for travel including a stroller that folds so compactly it can be stored in the overhead compartment on the plane.
Hope this helps-

I recommend the $20 stroller from ToyrUs (or babierus). I have 3 yr old twin girls. when my husband and I travel with them we use these strollers and they work great!
