You didn't say where you are located, but if you are in the Portland metro area you have some local options: the Catlin Gabel Rummage Sale at the Expo Center every late October/early November (http://www.catlin.edu/news/rummage/index), and the twice-yearly Pass It On Sale on the west side (http://www.passitonsales.com/). The latter is modeled on the Just Between Friends program, which is in several states (http://www.jbfsale.com/home/) of moms reselling their gear to each other. Also, don't forget the Craig's List for your area (www.craigslist.com) has a baby & kids section, and Freecycle.org is great too--find your local Freecycle forum and connect with people who are connecting free used goods with people who can use them.

At this time of year when garage sales are few and far between, I would try Craigslist.com. You can get some great deals on there.

i can't currently help with the dishes and stuff, but i can tell you i got the best stool i have ever used fo rmy son to use at thei sink. I got it from BurlingtonCoatFactory.com ( i know it doesn't sound right but that is were i got it) It is a two stage one that stores toys in it for bath time, and moms and dads can use it during bath time to sit on. You just take tho top and turn it around and put it back to make it taller and it is so secure.

Where do you live? If you are in the Portland area, check out this sale on the west side:

www.passitonsales.com

It only happens twice a year, but is like a giant garage sale that lasts 4 days with over 220 families participating! You can find just about anything for kids, babies, even maternity stuff, all in great shape, but you shoud try to go early if you have a specific need. The good stuff goes fast!

We also do a lot of craig's list and thrift store shopping for kids gear. Are you in Seattle? If so, the Goodwill on Dearborn often has a lot of great finds. However, we found a tall step stool for the bathroom at Ikea for a great price. they also have an inexpensive table and chairs.

I'm sure your area has places such as "Other Mothers" around here, who sell used childrens items. We also have "Saturday's Child". They are great for picking up things like this. Check your local phone book.

Ikea has a small table & chairs, a stool for the bathroom, and some dishes. I don't know about the food, but the other stuff is good.
