Does anyone know where I can get a flu shot for my son, 4 years old, that is Thimerosal-free? He has an appointment for a flu shot on Saturday, but when I asked the pediatrician's office if they were using the Thimerosal-free version, they said, "No."

Thanks for your help!

My pediatrician's office has the mercury free shots. They are having a flu shot clinic on Saturday. YOu may ask them if non-patients can come and if they will offer the mercury free for the clinic. It's the office of Dr. Katz & McDonald and the number is ###-###-#### in Plano.

Dr. William T. Lin (pedi) in Richardson offers them, so does Dr. Meiser (My son's allergist). We currently use a family dr. who isn't offering them this year so we just had him write us a prescription for them and we faxed it to Hopewell Pharmacy in NJ (you can google it). Then they send us the vaccine and we take it to our Dr.'s office for his nurse to administer it. We do this with the MMR vaccine too to break it up into three separate shots.

We see Dr Katz, too! I made sure to get the preservative-free Flu shot for our son, because he already has the diagnosis of PDD-NOS, which is on the Autism Spectrum.

Trinity Pharmacy is on the NE corner of Rosemeade and Josey. Dr Dan is Great, there, too! (Answered a LOT of my questions, even though our pharmacy benefits are thru Wal-greens).

It's a long way from Allen, but I am pretty sure Trinity Pharmacy in Carrollton does them. I just got mine and my son's there. http://www.trinityrx.com/ If you make the trek out here, call ahead to be sure, but I am pretty sure we had the option. It's also the only non-doctor's office I found that would even give a shot to a toddler. They have a very good reputation too. It was my pediatrician who recommended them last year when they ran out at their office.
