We're a Marine Corps family & new to the area. I have not been very impressed with military pediatricians that my son has been seeing on base. I am in search of a great civilian pediatrician out in town that accepts tricare for insurance. If any of you have any recommendations, I would be very happy to hear them. Thank You!!!

The website seems to indicate that they take Tricare, but you'll have to double check if you call. I've been really happy with Dr. Treiva Scanlan at Sharp Mission Park Pediatrics (the waring rd. office near college blvd) in Oceanside. She's really personable. She just had her own baby, so I'm not sure if she's taking new patients and she does job share with another mama-doctor, but she's always been really understanding, helpful and kind to my daughter, and although she job shares, I've never had to see anyone but her. She also works at Children's Hospital.

Not usre what insurances they except, but you could always call and ask. They are very helpful, and is an excellent Doc. office, I can't say enough could things about them. There are about 10 doc. in the office, we see Dr.Reinhardt, but if you ever need to go in and your Doc. is off or booked you can see any of the Doc. and they are all great. They always call to check and see how your child is a day or 2 later. They have Sat.app and late evening app. Hope this helps.

I take my kids to Children's Medical Group in San Marcos. It's quite a drive, but Dr. Monahan and Dr. Rosenfeldt are incredible!!! The staff is great and I've never had problems getting an appointment right when I needed one.
