Seeking Reasonably-priced Birthday Party Site in Lexington, KY Area

My daughter is turning 4 in August and I'd prefer to hold her birthday party at another site besides my home (don't want to worry about set-up or clean-up). I've looked into party facilities in the Lexington, Ky area and everything is so expensive (about $150 and up). Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I could hold her party? I'll probably invite about 10 kids and don't mind bringing my own decorations and refreshments. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I have had parties for my kids at the local parks. Jacobson Park is very nice with it's huge playground. August is a hot time of year and you may not want an outside party. Although I always have my son's party in August and it works out great.

Try Lexington Athletic Club's kid's place. That isn't too bad and they do the cake and pizza or hot dogs I think.

Also there's Bounce U. That's on Boston Rd.

I have seen birthday parties at ice cream shops lately! They pretty much have the girls meet there and they let them pick out the ice cream they want and let the kids chat and all that.

Is Chuck E Cheese that expensive? Or Gatti Town? I haven't looked into those.

There is that new party store in Fayette Mall, maybe they help you figure out places for parties too.

Good luck!!

We just had my 2 year olds party in the evening at Waveland, that historic house off of Nicholasville Road. They have a nice playground and several picnic tables. The table area is little far from the playground, but not too bad. There are a lot of shade trees. It's free and kids always have a blast on the playset and swings. There is also a kid-sized log cabin they can play in across the field in the other direction, and two gardens, plus a shady trail in the woods that goes past a little pond and has a little wooden bridge over a tiny rocky creek. There are bathrooms too. We hid my daughter's presents in the field and play area with Blue's Clues prints on them and everyone had so much fun helping her search for clues! Everyone commented on what a fun place it was for a party, you might check it out if you've never been there. There are never other people playing there when we go, so you pretty much have the area to yourself which is nice compared to big playgrounds like Jacobson Park where you have to worry the kids will get lost or go off with someone else...

we live in nicholasville and felt the same way about having my 2ys old party at my house. my sugestion is this. call parks and rec and reserve a shelter at one of the parks. the kids can play a the playground, the adults can visit under the shelter and all you have to do is pick after yuor selves. the shelters are relatively cheap or free to reserve and it saves a lot of time and headaches trying to get ready. we did it this year and will probably do it again next year too.

Have you checked out OoglesnGoogles? They do fun parties, but I don't know about the pricing. If your daughter loves going to the park as mine does, I would go with that idea.

Another idea is to hold the party at a pool. Some of the local hotels will rent out their pool area for about $100. I attended one recently and the kids loved it - just did cake/ice cream/chips and drinks and kids played in the pool. Good luck & have fun!

I just had my step daughters 5th birthday party at my home. I too looked everywhere here in Lexington and could not find anything reasonable in price. The cheapest thing to do is call around at hotels and see if there "meeting room" is available on the date you need it. I found that the Hamilton Inn off exit 110 was the cheapest and Home Suites on Richmond Rd. I have a Fibromyalgia along with other medical problems and I too didn't want the set up and clean up to deal with, but couldn't find anything. GOOD LUCK!

Adding to parks... there is also Shillito park, although if you want an actual shelter you have to reserve it about a year ahead.
