Seeking Preschool in Sarasota

My 3 1/2 year old son is in an AMAZING preschool in Venice. Unfortunately, we just realized we are going to have to move quickly (for the 2nd time in 7 months), and the drive to Venice everyday is just going to be too much. We want to find a preschool in Sarasota. He will be 4 in October. We are looking for full-time, definitely with an 'educational' setting more than just a 'daycare' setting. Any suggestions? Any ideas of what to run from? Please help me out ladies. I KNOW how difficult it is to find good early childhood schools and, especially since we are leaving a place we LOVE, this is very difficult for us. Thanks!

What can I do next?

My cousin and several teachers I know use Church of the Palms and are very happy there. They have lower ratios than most places, but are also a little bit more expensive. They do have both full time and part time programs and are geared toward the educational side. They have a web site: http://www.palmspreschool.com/
I have also heard good things from parents about Bright Beginnings and about Concordia Lutheran on Wood Street http://worknotes.com/FL/Sarasota/ConcordiaLutheranEarlyCh....
Good luck with your child care search, and with moving again.

"A step above childcare" is in the Lakewood ranch area on Merchant court. My 3 year old goes there and loves it! Mention my name and you will get money off of the registration fee. ###-###-####

Where in Sarasota are you moving? Might want to specify, it is a big place!

the 2 best preschools in Sarasota (by far) are first, 40 carrots and second, Early Childcare center. both are run by women with masters degrees in early childhood development. unfortunately they have really long waiting lists so I suggest you call them as soon as possible.

First Presbyterian Preschool is fabulous but not full time. I've heard great things about Discovery Days, which is full time. Swiss Day School also has a good reputation and offers both half and full day. Little Disciples also has a good reputation, but again not full time.
