Hi!!
I am seeking a casual play group or classes for my daughter who is 2 1/2 years old. Also am interested in summer camps etc....
I live off of A1A in Fort Lauderdale and would love to meet others with similar age children in the area.

What can I do next?

I attend a music and movement class with my daughter and we really love it. They have classes during the week and Saturdays. The instructor, Lourdes, super sweet and is great with the kids. check out their website if you're interested. www.peasinapodmusic.com

Take care,

Hello K.,

I just wanted to suggest Gymboree of Coconut Creek. www.gymboreeclasses.com This would be a great place to meet other parents and children her age. The classes divided by age so she can "go" with other children her age and yet it is something you still get to do together! You can always try a class for free, but I'm sure you'll both love it!! My son is now 7 months old and loves it and whew is he tired afterwards! Best of Luck!

We go to Nova (Mailman Segal Institute) for classes. They are awesome and there are a lot of choices if you are flexible with your schedule.
I have been taking my daughter there almost every Friday since she was four months(I work Mon-Thurs). I have a 2 1/2 yr old and am from NY as well.

Hi K. - I live in east ft laud as well - I have 2 little men - there is alot to do in east ft laud! My first suggestion is to check out Kim Balint's classes - go to her website at www.moveandgroovebaby.com - I have been going to her classes since I was pregnant w/my 1st son (he's 4 1/2 now) - she used to do prenatal classes (she's extremely knowledgeable)- her classes are a great place to meet other moms. Also, check out the gymnastics programs at Fort Lauderdale stars www.ftstars.com - they have fun classes for toddlers up to older kids - Miss Katie is great w/the kids. If you're looking for swimming classes, look at www.AquaChamps.com - Mary Jackson runs the programs (she is Jack Nelson's daughter - he was an Olympic swimmer and coach) - their classes are alot of fun. There's a My Gym up in Pompano Beach (just south of atl.blvd on fed'l hwy) - It's under new ownership so I'm not really sure how good it is but you can probably go for 1 free class to check it out. As for summer camps, alot of the churches have summer camps (a few hours a day) - my 4 yr old son went to Christ Church summer camp last year for a couple of weeks and loved it! Ft.Laud stars also has summer camp. HTH ~ Jen
