My son went to Terry Tennes (Tenis?) when he was young. She was great and I think she's still in Oak Park.

We take lessons at a local Christian school. My suggestion would be to ask at a local school, public or private, if they know of a reputable instructor for lessons. Usually places that sell pianos have lessons, but they can be expensive. Expect to pay at minimum 15/half hour for beginner lessons, and upwards of 25/half hour or more for more advanced lessons.

If you are near LaGrange, we love Musicology which is on Joliet and Wolf road. Good luck!

Angela Wright on Garfield in Oak Park is the best!
She starts them at 4 years old, and I call her "the antidote to the MTV attention span"
Good luck!

Hi B.,
I live in Lombard, too. My neighbor has been a piano teacher for years and I've heard wonderful things about her. My son is too young, yet, so I don't have first-hand knowledge. Her name is Diane Lindsay, and she is in the phone book. She offers lessons in her home.

Best of luck.

Hi B., if you are near Oak Park, I can recommend Michel Domingue, ###-###-####. In addition to piano, he also teaches guitar, violin, and maybe voice as well. He specializes in kids (my friend's daughter actually takes violin from him) but teaches adults too, like myself. He's a great teacher! Good luck.

I've been teaching piano lessons for the past 11 years. I currently teach out of my St. Charles home, but have also been involved with Kindermusik/ Kinderkeys in Naperville, was the music teacher for Wheaton Bible Church preschool, and worked for D41 in Glen Ellyn. Private piano lessons will set you back $15-$40 per lesson depending on the teacher, program, and length. Wheaton College offers private lessons- contact their music department for more info. You could also google Kinderkeys to find a location near you that offers semi-private lessons. (Not a HUGE fan of this program as young children are tought in a small group setting 4-8 kids, and keyboards are used- not real pianos. The material is good though.) FInally, if you're in the St. Charles arean, you can contact me at ____@____.com luck!

The School for the Arts located in Community Christian Church has terrific piano teachers. Their cost is better than anywhere else I have looked also. Here's a link:
