Seeking Pediatrician Who Practices Alternative Medicine

Dear Moms,

I recently took my 12-year old son to a local peditrician (as a new patient). We moved here from Santa Fe, NM and have not established relationships with any healthcare providers yet. Because I chose not to adhere to the traditional immunization schedule for my son, the doctor we visited is not willing to see us again.

Therefore, I am in search of a peditrician in the DFW metroplex who honors families who have make this choice and who practices alternative medicine.

Since we have no insurance, we would preferably like one who is affordable.

Thanks a million!

I go to Dr. Bain in Frisco as well, at Healthy Kids Pediatrics. She is the only pediatrician there, but she is VERY open to alternative medicine. My child is 1 and has had no immunizations. She doesn't make you get them at all. She was recommended to me by over 16 women from this site. Good luck!

A.,

Dr. Daniel Chartrand in Allen is a family practice MD. He doesn't take ins, doesn't require immunizations, and performs acupuncture. He's the real deal. www.harmonyfamilyhealth.com.

Good luck.

I am so excited to have come across this!! I am due in a few weeks and have a 7 year old. We are very into alt./holistic medicine and dont exactly want to rely on our chiropractor for all of our medical needs. Thank you!

A., welcome to DFW!! I am a mom, RN, and childbirth Doula and would highly recommend our Pediatrician. I refer friends and clients to him continuously. He is very open minded about 'non-traditional' modalities. He always helps you make well informed decisions based on the information that is currently out there. I just don't know about his costs.

C.Daryl Curry at Methodist Hospital Dallas on Colorado. I just don't have his number right now.

Good Luck!

We go to Dr. Frank at Willowbend Pediatrics in Plano. His office is WONDERFUL, we're in and out in under 30 minutes EVERY time and he's on board with alternate vaccine schedules. We waited till our daughter was 18 months before giving her any vaccines and now we pick and chose what she gets. I HIGHLY recommend him and his office. We've been looking for years for another doctor closer to home (Rockwall) but have yet to find one. Unfortunately, these doctors are still few and far between. Good luck!!
