Hi moms, I'm looking for a pediatrician for my three year old daughter. She has a long list of medical problems and we havent been able to find the "right fit" as far as pediatricians go. She has been diagnosed with epilepsy, asthma, GERD, motility problems, hypotonia, IGA & IGE deficiency, and as of now they are looking for an autonomic or mito disease. The list goes on but that is some of her diagnosis. All of her specialists are in Boston but I was looking for pediatrician closer to home. Mostly for the small kid stuff, such as check ups, flu shots the usual. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated!! I am willing to travel for the right doctor. Thank you in advance for all your help.

I know that many of the parents of the student's I work with see Dr. Ansel in Andover. He is a developmental pediatrician, meaning that he sees kiddos with the kinds of issues you describe above. You may want to consider looking for developmental pediatricians listed with your insurance company to give you some names to compare and keep looking until you find the right fit. Issues like your daughters require a combination of good knowledge and understanding of the conditions and ability to provide supports for you and the rest of the family as it is needed. Dr. Serena Dee is also a developmental pediatrician, she is in North Andover I believe. Good luck.

J.,

We have an awesome peditrician at Children's Healthcare right in Haverhill...I have no idea if he works with the list of issues that your daughter has. But I thought I would send you his name anyways because we love him. Dr. Eric Bucher.

Good luck!!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rosenbloom at Pentucket Medical in Haverhill. He is AWESOME! My daughters have had a few problems - acid reflux, urology problems, etc.. Dr. Rosenbloom ALWAYS listens to me as a mother, and even if I sound crazy - he stops and asks me more questions and never dismisses my concerns. He knows that as a mother, I have certain instincts that are right, and he takes the time to figure it out. He is SUPER smart, and has figured out some things that the "specialists" never could figure out. Yet he never hesitates to recommend you to a specialist if it requires expertise. And best of all - he makes my kids laugh! They LOVE going to Dr. R. Truly - call him for a consultation ###-###-#### to see if you get along. You'll love him!

Hi, J.. Have you tried asking one of your daughter's specialists for a recommendation? My son has some medical issues (he has some real trouble breathing, and is currently going through a surgical process to lengthen his jaw), and I needed some help finding a regular pediatrician who could handle his case. I asked one of my son's specialists for a recommendation and found a great doctor. Give it a shot!

My children go to North Andover Pediatrics, on 114 in North Andover. We have been very happy there. Dr. Beth Freire and Dr. Alison Martin are both great. They have another office in Woburn, too, where they offer evening and weekend hours. The website is www.woburnpedi.com and phone # is ###-###-####. They have given me some great referrals to specialists at Children's and Mass General. They feel that the parents should be able to decide on the specialists for their child. Be careful about a lot of the practices in the area. They may make it very difficult for your daughter to see her specilaists.
